In this episode, I introduce the famous French humanist philosopher, Michel de Montaigne (1533 - 1592), and talk about a particular quote that I found in one of his essays.

In this episode, I play a short excerpt (about 10 mins) of the free Librivox audiobook of Plato's "Phaedo," in which Plato, writing through the characters of Socrates and his friends, narrates the death of Socrates in a very emotional way.
