Man, I love the Greens. Realizing it’s been almost 20 years of reading their books, watching their YouTubes, and now (belatedly) listening to their podcast. Subtle, funny, heartfelt and thoughtful

  • You should meet the hot tub podcast

I feel like if you guys in the hot tub podcast met each other you guys would probably like each other, considering all of the fun games and fun. Talk that they have together. And would be super fun to see two of my favourite podcasts make a collaboration with each other considering that you both are super funny and everyone on that podcast is also super funny so I think if you guys met up in person that would be really cool. Also, your podcast is great to keep up the good work.😁🤣🤣🤣

Q: Natalie asks about pulling creativity out of a rut after becoming a new parent. How do you balance creativity and parenting while re-engaging with practice?
Treat creativity as a spectrum, not a switch; adopt a parallel practice that is feasible, such as trying watercolors or collage, and let inputs (experiencing art, walking, and reflection) inform future outputs when energy and time permit.
449: It Will Go Well And It Will End (w/ Sarah Urist Green!)
Q: Dear Sarah and John, how does a person get real art that feels personal without breaking the bank?
Look beyond high-priced works by exploring student shows, local art fairs, thrift shops for handmade pieces, and consider building a personal collection over time as a side hustle, focusing on pieces with stories and personal resonance.
449: It Will Go Well And It Will End (w/ Sarah Urist Green!)
Q: Okay. This one comes from Abigail. Dear Sarah and John, I'm working on my art history master's degree in order to get a job at an art museum. How do I overcome my fear of performance art?
Abigail should learn to sit in discomfort, expose herself gradually to performance environments, and consider attending space-specific performances to reduce anxiety, while recognizing that around certain performances it helps to engage with the audience and reflect on the shared experience afterwards.
