Dismantling New Age cults, wellness grifters, and conspiracy-mad yogis. At best, the conspirituality movement attacks public health efforts in times of crisis. At worst, it fronts and recruits for the fever-dream of QAnon. As the alt-right and New Age horseshoe toward each other in a blur of disinformation, clear discourse, and good intentions get smothered. Charismatic influencers exploit their f... more

It’s really hard to do this review after almost two years of listening. I got put onto the show in part due to Matt Bernstein featuring Derrick on his show. I genuinely think this show is overall a net-good. A lot of good discussion about politics moment were in, and the ideology of crazy wellness people and right wing peeps.
However, I’ve become disillusioned over the past year with how especially two of the hosts have been treating the political moment we are in, and that’s prevalent in how t... more
love the podcast mostly, but just have to point out that three white dudes referring to Ronan Farrow as « the reporter who launched the Me Too movement » is a pretty wild retelling of history, not to mention a bold erasure of the two female reporters whose concurrent reporting can also be said to have « launched the Me Too movement, » not to mention Tarana Burke, the Black woman to whom the #MeToo hashtag is credited, or the thousands of women whose stories fueled the movement. i mean, wow. i re... more
I’ve been listening to this podcast since 2020.. the year (I believe) of its inception.
What’s kept me listening to this podcast all these years is that these three men are covering what I know to be a necessary niche of information.. as a person who’s survived religious and spiritual abuse, as well as the influence of two parents who were heavily overtaken by fringe health disinformation.
From my perspective, Conspirituality’s beat is necessary.
I just wish it wasn’t so damn obsessed with ... more
The three hosts were a big part of my debunking process from the fitness and wellness industries and Steiner. Thank you for such great thinking and writing snd research
Thank you for remembering Joseph Baker. I was his peers during the fall term at UTS. We were in the same class over the fall. The same compassionate and thoughtful person showed up each week in class.

A thoughtful analysis of wellness culture, conspiracy narratives, and new spirituality, with a focus on how charisma and belief systems fuel group dynamics. Episodes frequently examine the intersection of health misinformation, religious and mystical thinking, and political activism, often critiquing how influencers exploit fears and search for meaning. Notable strengths include rigorous sourcing, psychological and historical context, and a willingness to challenge both mainstream narratives and fringe beliefs, making it a useful niche for brands seeking thoughtful discussions on credibility, media literacy, and public health communication.
