Dismantling New Age cults, wellness grifters, and conspiracy-mad yogis. At best, the conspirituality movement attacks public health efforts in times of crisis. At worst, it fronts and recruits for the fever-dream of QAnon. As the alt-right and New Age horseshoe toward each other in a blur of disinformation, clear discourse, and good intentions get smothered. Charismatic influencers exploit their f... more

Streamers are entertainers and are very appreciated by their fans. Having streams on hours at a time is like having music or tv on. Very insulting your assumptions about this HUGE industry. And people do listen to Hasan and appreciate his contribution to the political dialogue. He literally fact checks in real time. What is your problem with him?
Outstanding episode about the sheep that allow the out of touch sheep herders to operate. Especially OPRAH!!
A show on the topic of conspirituality is much needed in this world now but the tone these guys often take is often snarky and sneering. Worse, when they offer some critiques, like “Is Erica Chenoweth a willing lapdog to status quo liberalism and capitalist power?” they seem to be engaging in cheap click bait as she herself has complicated the issue and clarified her claims. These guys are the very meat of blowhard pomposity that fails any test of actual reasoning.
Solid.
Love the show, the nuance, the topics. Each host offers something interesting, which is great and Julian’s giggle, keeps me going lol.
I have listened to most episodes. The JP Sears episode got me really annoyed with Matthew repetitively arguing his point to Julian and with an attitude that was unnecessary. I have noticed he does the same with Derek too. We get it, you disagree with them. But I thank you all for what you’re doing. That’s what counts IMO.
