  • Learning so much

I am a new student (Feb 2024) in the NTP program. and I am learning so much (in class and podcast). I enjoy the podcast as an extra tool. It does bring up questions that I am looking for answers, but it is making me think in a different direction. I enjoy hearing peoples stories and what brought them on their journey to a healthier way of life.

Keep up the great work and inspirational conversations. 🙌💖

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

S2E14: Have Your Cake and Eat It Too
Q: What are the practical steps listeners can take to reduce sugar intake without feeling deprived?
Jamie and Natalie discuss shifting mindset toward bio-individual needs, prioritizing foods with fiber and phytonutrients, using whole fruit for dessert, and selecting clean, extract-based sweeteners with fewer fillers. Implementing moderation and gradual taste-adjustment is recommended.
S2E14: Have Your Cake and Eat It Too
Q: What inspired your approach to creating a gut-friendly sweetener?
Natalie explains that her motivation came from her aunt's health journey and the desire to find foods that support the gut rather than disrupt it. The product was developed to fortify the mucosal layer, reduce inflammatory responses, and function as a health-supportive ingredient rather than just a sugar substitute.
S2E12: Beating Your ADHD Is Not Rocket Science - With Dr. Leslie Korn
Q: How should someone approach binge eating within a trauma-informed, nutritional framework?
Recognize binge eating as a biologically driven behavior often linked to trauma and nutrient deficits. Use the principle of substitutions to identify what the brain is truly seeking nutritionally, replace with healthier options (protein, fats, fiber), and address underlying emotional triggers through body-focused techniques and appropriate therapy.
S2E12: Beating Your ADHD Is Not Rocket Science - With Dr. Leslie Korn
Q: What can someone do to understand why they have ADHD and begin to help themselves?
Start with bio-individual assessment of their lifestyle, trauma history, sleep, digestion, and nutrition. Focus on foundational changes like improving digestion (possibly with digestive enzymes or targeted nutrients), regulating circadian rhythm, reducing stimulants, and choosing sustainable movement. Tailor plans to what the person will actually do, not what sounds ideal.
S2E2: Healthy Eating Made Easier Using AI Tools - Practical Tips & Tricks
Q: Rebecca, tell me about your podcast and quick background.
Rebecca explains Liberty Wellness and Co., her role as an NTP educator, and how her programs aim to empower teens and families with foundational health education and practical nutrition skills.
