Being only 5 months into my recovery I have found so much valuable information, other survivors & their feelings thru this podcast
I’m 2-1/2 years post aneurysm, I have been searching and searching for something, anything to help me understand the new me. I also found out I’m suffering from PTSD which is a result of the stroke. I just found your WAAF Walk podcast one day ago, and I keep finding more and more, I haven’t got to listen to the Recovery Mindset Program, I think that’s my next stop, I love your upbeat and positive outlook, keep doing what you’re doing! You have me hooked, I will continue to follow your Neuronerds... more
I came on to listen because Rachel is my niece. I think your show is amazing. You keep the show positive, alive and funny. Your personality is just perfect. It’s very depressing and lonely being paralyzed. You made me smile for this hour. People really don’t understand what it does to your life and especially to your family! Only those who have walked a mile in my shoes. Thank you for doing this.❤️
I am a new listener. I am a brain tumor survivor. I relate to so much of this. If you need a brain tumor survivor on the show I’m in! Thanks for making this community have a voice.

As an 18 month ischemic brain stem stroke survivor, this episode feels like a life savor. To feel such connection and hearing so many of my feelings spoken out loud!!! THANK YOU!!♥️
As a 3-time stroke survivor who was discharged from the hospital and back into the world without a user’s manual for my new brain, I felt alone, lost, and isolated.
Finding Joe and Lauren saved me.
Listening to them feels like hanging out with your best friends. They just happen to be your best friends that also understand brain injury.
Thanks to everyone involved with The Neuro Nerds for making me feel less alone.
Joe and Lauren are the real deal!! Not only is their show informative and amazing; their service work within the brain injury community has been crucial in my recovery. I don’t know what I would have done without this resource 🥰
Also this show’s nerdiness helps me understand my husband so much more!

Joe and Lauren are amazing in their conversations. I feel like I’m a silent observer sitting in the room with them. Thank you!
As a speech language pathologist who’s worked with TBI and stroke survivors for more than 25 years, I’ve never heard a more upbeat, authentic fully transparent exchange between Joe and his guests. The episode with Rebekah with a K was genuinely one of the most poignant, profound and FUN episodes. Imagine talking about impending brain surgery and laughing. I felt privy to Joe’s and Rebeka with a K’s deeply personal conversation. I laughed, I cried, I prayed and I held Rebeka in the light on Thurs... more
New to this podcast, so funny, interesting, and a lot of knowledge gained! Joe is awesome!
Joe and Lauren host a great show about nerdy stuff and surviving stroke and TBI. It's a very personal show with generally great audio. Some weeks are deep into Marvel movies; others are deep into brain trivia, and still others are deeper dives into Joe and Lauren's injuries and recoveries.
I am a Huge fan of the “Neuro Nerds) I started to listen to it back in 2018 when this podcast just started). I was on Hospital still and listening to it was a great thing for me, helped me to no feel so lonely and know that “cool” people also had a stroke and I wasn’t alone🤕
Thanks so much Guys for this great Podcast and being helping people around the world 🌎

I am listening to as I am writing this review. Finally, a podcast that I could totally relate to. I am a young stroke survivor (older than the hosts, but still...) and I am a big nerd/geek. Harry Potter is everything! The hosts are funny and easy to listen to. Extra points for hating on Gwyneth Paltrow 🤮! Update on my review: I have been listening to this podcast for a year and I still love Joe & Lauren. They are informative, fun and knowledgeable. Lately though they added sound effects. And th... more
Joe and Lauren are great! A combination of stroke and brain injury content, & nerd stuff. Which is actually perfect for me.
