Love this podcast! As a trainer and former pole vaulter I appreciate his knowledge and sense of humor. I also appreciate the short and the to the point topics. He doesn’t take himself too seriously.

Q: What are some of the challenges you experience with your podcast and creating content for your show?
Rick explains that sustained content creation is tough because you must continually find value for the audience, balance fresh topics with evergreen material, and craft conversations that remain consumable and relevant, often recycling past content when appropriate.
Do You Plan Workouts—or Just Wing Them?
Q: Given a client with several goals, where should a trainer start the programming process and how should they structure initial workouts?
Start with a long-term macro plan, then establish four-to-six week meso blocks focused on specific goals (stability, strength endurance, hypertrophy, maximal strength, power). Build a weekly microcycle within those blocks, and only modify individual sessions when a client isn't feeling it, not the entire plan.
