  • Very one sided opinion

Can’t listen anymore. It’s a small violin being played for property investors.

You just need to look at Victoria, housing prices have stagnated. Why? Because they have all moved to Perth and Adelaide to ruin.

The amount of new taxes being charged is so minimal for a large property investors. The risk is now A RISK, so they are moving elsewhere.

They loved it when it was very very low risk. Now they can’t take advantage of the housing market, now to ruin Perth!

  • Repetitive Content Wrapped in Constant Self-Promotion

I’ve dipped in and out of this podcast for some time, but the content has become increasingly repetitive. What stands out even more is that much of the podcast functions as a promotional vehicle for their buyer’s agency and wealth advisory services. While they frequently reference “real client stories,” these examples rarely include any meaningful detail about the strategies or solutions involved. As a result, the podcast often feels less like an educational resource and more like a twice-weekly... more

  • Good if you’re new, but a bit tired if you’re not.

With some strong guests from time to time, the data driven episodes mean that it can be a helpful pod. Unfortunately, the format is let down by a tendency to repeat very similar messages and drift into an infomercial for Michael’s company and services. That does get boring pretty quickly. Moreover, much of the messaging and information is aimed at newcomers, which means it has a shelf-life for most investors. There are some gems in there, but you need to dig.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Capital Gains Tax Debate: What Property Investors Must Know, with Ken Raiss
Q: Is there a better alternative to improve housing affordability besides CGT changes?
Yes, prioritizing supply—especially zoning for higher-density development and faster approvals—along with targeted incentives to increase new housing stock, would address affordability more directly than tax tinkering, while preserving investor confidence.
The Capital Gains Tax Debate: What Property Investors Must Know, with Ken Raiss
Q: What would happen if the government reduces the CGT discount?
Reducing the discount would likely ease the incentive to invest, potentially lowering demand and rental pressure, but the impact depends on investor behavior and the broader supply response; many investors would seek to preserve wealth through longer holding periods or alternative structures, which could reduce turnover and tighten supply in the short term.
Property Market Update – Where Prices Are Rising the Fastest | Dr Andrew Wilson
Q: So Andrew, what did the latest My Housing Market report show for what happened in February?
The report confirms multiple housing markets, with ongoing momentum in boom markets (Darwin, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane) and softer activity in Melbourne and Sydney due to reduced auction activity and seasonal factors, but year-on-year gains remain positive across most capitals.
Property Investing: 20 Years Later: What Still Works (and What Doesn't) with Ken Raiss
Q: What are some challenges facing property investment moving forward?
Supply constraints are likely to worsen, and there may be increasing government intervention and regulation in property investments.
Property Investing: 20 Years Later: What Still Works (and What Doesn't) with Ken Raiss
Q: What do you believe has changed the most in Australia over the last 20 years that property investors really need to understand today?
Demographics will reshape demand more profoundly, alongside an increasing divide between those who own property and those who don't.
