  • Love this Pod!

Jason Earle is a spectacular interviewer when it comes to questioning his guests. He goes deeper beyond the music, and makes you feel like it’s just a couple old friends catching up. I love how he always asks his guests what books they’re reading or what other creative things they are consuming. It’s such an insightful way to learn more about the artist themselves, and add more things to your reading/listening/pod lists! So happy to know more concerts are popping up which means we will have less... more

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Tommy Nickoloff | The Marinade Episode 211
Q: Did you face any skepticism or imposter syndrome during production?
Yes, but they pushed through by focusing on authenticity and personal investment, with Molina's encouragement echoing in their own creative drive.
Tommy Nickoloff | The Marinade Episode 211
Q: How did you approach turning hours of interviews into a cohesive film?
By starting with a large pool of interviews, then reviewing footage and transcripts to find a story arc, allowing the narrative to emerge rather than forcing a preconception.
Brian Dunne | The Marinade Episode 207
Q: What does community look like for you as a touring musician in New York and beyond?
Community is built by throwing parties, inviting people to collaborate, and creating spaces where artists can support each other and grow together rather than compete.
Brian Dunne | The Marinade Episode 207
Q: Can you talk about your approach to making the record more 'alternative' while still acknowledging your influences?
I wanted to honor influences like Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen while framing them through a rarified, modern lens, which meant embracing the tensions between the familiar and the experimental in my own music.
Brian Dunne | The Marinade Episode 207
Q: So how did that feel in the moment, with all this positive feedback, when you stripped away so much of the music to be more you?
It was a relief to see the work resonate; the process of stripping back actually clarified my identity as an artist and gave me permission to be more authentic on future projects.
