Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

125 | Why You Are Not Consistent (It's Not Discipline) with Courtney Townley
Q: Why do so many women try to control their bodies instead of trusting them?
The pattern stems from long-standing messaging and a habit of outsourcing body knowledge; people have learned to seek external authority, but ownership and understanding of one's body come from self-trust and internal guidance.
120 | Why Work-Life Balance Isn’t Working for Mothers (And What to Do Instead) with Dr Takisha Robinson
Q: What role does rest play in this framework?
Rest is maintenance; it should be planned and intentional, including micro-naps or activities that restore energy so you can lead with resilience rather than burnout.
120 | Why Work-Life Balance Isn’t Working for Mothers (And What to Do Instead) with Dr Takisha Robinson
Q: How does one start adopting the integration framework in daily life?
Begin with calendar audits, energy mapping to identify peak cognitive times, and rename and time-block invisible tasks to align with your current season, then outsource or delay what doesn't fit.
120 | Why Work-Life Balance Isn’t Working for Mothers (And What to Do Instead) with Dr Takisha Robinson
Q: What would you say is the fundamental flaw in the idea of balance that we're trying to find?
Balance assumes energy is distributed equally across all domains, but real life is layered with seasons of focus—leadership, caregiving, fatigue—so integration, not balance, is the practical approach.
112 | Struggling to Achieve Your Goals? Don’t Give Up Just Yet! with Ro Fielden
Q: What can you say to the listener who's listening to this and says, oh, yes, but I just can't seem to carry on, I can't seem to get it right, if you will?
Understanding that at some point, it's going to pass, it's like a cloud, it's going to pass.
