  • So helpful!

Every one of these podcasts has been carefully planned to discuss some aspect of eating disorders or issues with fanatical incorrect exercising and the guests are interviewed to explain what helped them recover. The level of detail and nuance in explaining how a person got from being binge eater to feeling comfortable and normal around food gave me some aha moments. I’ve got more from Marcus than any other podcasts. He’s a good listener and good at asking the right questions. Also many are fun... more

  • Powerful information

Lost my first 40 pounds and my relationship with food was so messy. This podcast definitely describes all my issues with food and has helped me tremendously keep focused, still lose weight, have a healthy food relationship and not panic if I eat food. It has helped me not label foods as good or bad, just food and I am learning to be in the moment enjoying life and food. Thank you

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

My Training Program Is Not Making Me Stronger (I’m Exhausted!)
Q: How does one approach building somebody's program, in principle?
The approach should be like cooking: start with foundational movements (heavy compound lifts), address weak points, and then add streamlined accessory movements. There's emphasis on conditioning the nervous system and practicing with planned variation rather than just piling on exercises; a coach can tailor this to the individual's stage and goals.
Can seeking more insight keep you stuck in recovery? with Natalie Rose
Q: How should someone think about healing in the context of parenting and intergenerational patterns?
Natalie emphasizes rupture-and-repair as a normal part of healthy relationships, including with children, and notes that perfection is not required for healthy development.
Can seeking more insight keep you stuck in recovery? with Natalie Rose
Q: Can you talk about how attachment patterns influence our relationship with food and our body, and what 'secure attachment' looks like in practice?
Natalie explains that secure attachment involves a partner who demonstrates reliability and emotional availability, which helps regulate anxiety and supports healthier eating and body image dynamics.
Can seeking more insight keep you stuck in recovery? with Natalie Rose
Q: Is there a point where we know enough about ourselves and our problems and just need to take some action, whether we feel ready or not? And at this point, is the ongoing quest for deeper insights and more knowledge just kind of slowing us down?
Natalie suggests that while self-understanding is valuable, there is a risk of using insight as avoidance; taking deliberate action and practicing what you already know can move recovery forward even when you don't feel perfectly ready.

Q: How do I not place my worth on my weight?
Start placing more emphasis on valuing other things rather than just your physical appearance.
