  • Old and outdated.

Just a regurgitation of the same advice that has kept people in a cycle of weight loss/weight gain with no long term results. This podcast will help keep the diet/weight loss and pharmaceutical industry in business.

  • Life Changing

I’ve struggled so much with dieting and shame around food. But after seeing her shorts on YouTube and now listening to the Podcast I realize I have definitely suffered from disordered eating. The information is life giving and eye opening. All these years I’ve believed what the culture has said about what “health” is but now I’m starting to see it through a lend of freedom and love of myself and my body. I am blessed to have stumbled across Bonnie and thankful to her for having the courage to do... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

252. Protein Goals, Hunger Cues, & The Honeymoon Phase (Q&A)
Q: How do I deal with emotions and doubts in the honeymoon phase after stopping restrictions?
Acknowledge that these feelings are normal, give yourself grace, and use Mary's approach of allowing foods you once restricted while observing body signals. Seek professional support if the process feels chaotic or overwhelming.
252. Protein Goals, Hunger Cues, & The Honeymoon Phase (Q&A)
Q: How to learn to recognize your hunger cues?
Start with structure to get on a rhythm, then practice tuning into subtle cues beyond a grumbling stomach—mood changes, energy fluctuations, and even brain fog can signal hunger. Use a hunger-fullness scale and reflect on personal rules about hunger.
252. Protein Goals, Hunger Cues, & The Honeymoon Phase (Q&A)
Q: Do you think trying to hit a protein goal each day is unhelpful to intuitive eating?
It depends on the person and where they are in their healing. For some, a loose protein guideline (e.g., 20–30 grams per meal) can support nutrition awareness without becoming a rule, but for others, tracking can trigger old dieting mindsets and should be avoided until they feel more neutral about food.
248. Coming Off GLP-1s, Rushed Meals, & My Journey with Intuitive Eating (Q&A)
Q: Last question, how did you reach intuitive eating or decide it was best for you?
The host shares her journey from promoting weight loss and low-carb approaches to discovering intuitive eating in 2018, realizing how her past guidance contributed to clients' binge eating, and embracing a weight-neutral framework that helped her heal her own relationship with food and apply that knowledge to her practice.
248. Coming Off GLP-1s, Rushed Meals, & My Journey with Intuitive Eating (Q&A)
Q: Question number two, any tips for listening to fullness cues when you have only 10 minutes to eat daily struggle?
She suggests recognizing that rushing can make it hard to check in with fullness, recommends using energy needs as a guide when body cues are hard to access, and proposes practical strategies such as choosing meals that are protein-forward and pairing with carbohydrates and fats to sustain satiety, along with keeping shelf-stable nourishment on hand.
