  • It’s everything…

Stephanie is just such a JOY to listen to, when topics and feelings can be very heavy. She brings such a thoughtful dialogue, with scientific explanations, real life anecdotes and experiences, and genuinely helpful ideas for people struggling. Recovering from food and body issues is like a huge puzzle, it’s not linear, and Stephanie guides listeners, without judgement, through the messiness of the puzzle, providing the tools to put pieces into place. Cannot say enough about how she cares for her... more

  • So relatable….

I think I found Stephanie during the pandemic, doing videos from her closet.

Then I found her podcast with Sarah - which I LOVED!

Now, still following her and loving this new version of her podcast. She is so relatable, knowledgeable and insightful!

  • A Major Part of My Continued Recovery

Stefanie’s podcast (both with Sarah and now solo) has been such an important part of my recovery journey. Now that I’m recovered for four years, I listen to her weekly as a mental check-in which I think unwrinkled my mind weekly. She is so articulate and caring, that it feels good to have someone to listen to who really understands and cares about our community.

  • I can't say enough good things about this podcast. It's an awesome tool for anyone who wants to take a genuine look at their relationship with food outside of diet culture and the 80+ billion dollar diet industry. It's just the f*****g truth with no judgement and it's profoundly refreshing and so incredibly necessary. Also the narrator is down to earth and very intelligent and compassionate. It's 100% good.

24. Why Body Image Gets Harder on Vacation | Q&A
Q: How should someone approach packing and clothing when they already feel uncomfortable in their body on vacation? Any strategies beyond chasing the perfect outfit?
Focus on functional standbys and comfort over aesthetics alone. Build a packing approach that includes go-to pieces that feel safe and allow space for self-expression without triggering shame. Practice radical acceptance of possible wardrobe limitations and plan ways to create comfort in the moment (breathing, self-touch, mobility) even if clothes don't feel perfect.
24. Why Body Image Gets Harder on Vacation | Q&A
Q: It feels like my entire recovery goes out the window when I travel and I'm with other people and out of my routine. How do you navigate this push-pull between staying attached to recovery and enjoying a trip?
Recognize travel as a source of overstimulation and differentiate nervous-system signals from food-driven impulses. Create a minimal, flexible plan that anchors nourishment (anchor meals) without rigid restrictions, accept that some days won't feel perfect, and prioritize safety and capacity over perfection. Communicate needs with the group when possible and remind yourself that you can return to steady routines after the trip.
21. Intuitive Eating Q&A: Saying No, Brunch Planning, and "Food Isn't Exciting Anymore"
Q: How do you cope with food losing its thrill after recovery?
Thrill-seeking around food often shifts to a quest for contentment and regulation. Recovery moves toward stable, regulated enjoyment rather than highs from bingeing, with reward found in broader life experiences and balanced, meaningful nourishment.
21. Intuitive Eating Q&A: Saying No, Brunch Planning, and "Food Isn't Exciting Anymore"
Q: Is planning ahead with a smaller meal before brunch intuitive eating or restrictive behavior?
It can be intuitive if it serves the body's signals and the person's goals, but it can be restrictive if driven by fear or a rigid rule. The key is understanding motivations and staying attuned to bodily cues when deciding whether such planning is helpful or a constraint.
21. Intuitive Eating Q&A: Saying No, Brunch Planning, and "Food Isn't Exciting Anymore"
Q: What are some good ways to begin saying no to a food that you know will cause discomfort later?
The approach is to connect with the felt sense rather than a should, recognizing that saying no can be a compassionate boundary rather than a moral failing. It's about self-trust, clarifying whether the no is about restriction or a strategic choice aligned with recovery, and using language that preserves flexibility and safety for the nervous system.
