The conversational nature of this show is perfect.
Indeed, these three friends & music enthusiasts bring an entertaining look into some great albums, providing personal stories which make the listener feel like they're involved in the discussion as well. The interesting spin on their formula is that they take the time to point out what they dislike about each album, in addition to explaining what they liked about them. The fun part of the show (aside from the show itself), is the possibility of finding out about a band you may never have heard o... more
Daniel B. McCullough is called "deep" because he actually has heard of and listened to albums such as Pink Floyd's _The Wall_ and can discuss things like genre. This isn't being "kind of a dick", it is simply having opinions and knowing things. During the first two episodes, I often felt I could use more Dan. nice editing! you guys are goof! are you open to suggestions of themes?
I downloaded the first episode over the weekend, started listening to it this morning on my drive in to work and could not wait to hear the rest! I really liked hearing the reasoning behind why the albums made you want to be musicians, very insightful. Downloading episode two right now, can't get enough and I am really looking forward to more work from you guys. I highly recommend!! THUNDERSTORM!!!
I wanted to complain that it was two and a half hours long but after listening there really wasn't anything to cut out. The guys do a great job of keeping you interested throughout the podcast. I've only listened to one of the three albums but I think I'll check the other two out after listening to this. Looking forward to the next episode...
Well, these guys are hilarious, clearly good friends, and Dan, the elder statesman and a keen observer of rock history and musicians, can --as they point out-- also be kind of a dick -- but all three of them have a passion and knowledge for music so that their observations held my interest all the way through. Lou is a great moderator, keeps the discussion moving along and lightens it up with humor when it threatens to drag. To really enjoy this, it's good to review the three albums they're di... more
