Thank you for following his story. He needs to be made accountable have a court trail and go to jail for ruining so many young girls lives. Queen Elizabeth’s legacy will be marred by this until he pays a price for what he has done.

  • Emotionless presenter who asks the bleeding obvious.

Droning monotonous voice of the presenter who drains the life out of any real conversation by asking stupid pointless questions. News podcast for 5 years and under. Dumbed down drivel.

  • Needs better presenters

Some useful topics covered, but the presenter/guests are uninformed and have no knowledge pre 2015! They also speak and read out their scripts as though the listeners are thick and unable to follow a decent pace - very annoying!

  • Awful left wing bias

Awful left wing bias. I tried listening to a few episodes to give it a chance. But I couldn’t take the blatant left wing bias. It shouldn’t be this hard to find a pod that gives factual reporting, without giving biased opinions

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Should Harley Street’s cosmetic ‘hot-desking’ be halted?
Q: Niva, which are the most common and actually the most problematic treatments or tweakments?
The discussion focuses on dermal filler and botulinum toxin, noting that while botulinum toxin requires prescription-like controls, many could administer it; fillers are widely used but carry significant risks if misapplied, highlighting the need for better standardisation and training.
Should Harley Street’s cosmetic ‘hot-desking’ be halted?
Q: So Niva, this story really caught my eye, and my initial thought was, how you got the idea for the story?
Niva explains that the idea grew from observing repeated Harley Street addresses popping up across social media and online, suggesting many practitioners were leveraging the same locations, which raised questions about regulation and safety.
Is ambulance arson the consequence of unchecked antisemitism?
Q: What does need to be done by the government to protect Jewish people and prevent attacks from becoming more deadly?
Gideon Falter emphasizes strengthening security funding where needed, addressing the root causes of extremism, banning or restricting extremist organizations, and taking decisive policy actions rather than relying on reactive measures.
Is London the new Hollywood?
Q: The Academy Awards moment and the question of London as a rival: do you think London is a credible rival of Hollywood in terms of film production?
Laura Martin explains that if the UK's studio capacity, tax incentives, and talent pool continue to grow, London can be a credible and competitive alternative to Hollywood, supported by data on production volumes and ongoing high-profile projects.
Can awards season revive legacy fashion houses? With John Arlidge
Q: Hi, John. Thanks so much for joining me on The Standard podcast. Could you bring us into the luxury world and describe the current state of play for legacy brands?
The industry is in a complex period where retail is sluggish, pricing pressures persist, and brands are recalibrating to balance prestige with value. Some houses are successfully leveraging heritage cues and more affordable pricing to regain momentum, while others struggle with margins and demand shifts, especially in key markets like China and the U.S.
