  • Disappointed

Dismayed at the title of the recent offering, ‘Is this what globalizing the intifada looks like? ‘ well no actually, why link an act of violence by a man struggling with mental health issues to protests against Palestinian injustice? Sloppy, sensationalist journalism from a podcast that, up to now, had reflected a diversity of opinion in a calm and rational manner. A big fail by a normally reliable source of news and comment.

  • Harry and Megan

Just registering my disagreement that Harry and Megan have no support in the UK or US they are certainly talked down in some of the press and social media but I feel a great deal of sympathy for their position, and wish them well. Harry was born a royal and the fact Charles and William haven't helped with security costs despite the threats Harry and his family face, and the enormous fortune Charles and William make from the royal estates seems unjustifiable to me. I think William and Kate in par... more

  • Sadly Just Infuriating

I admire the attempt to bring balance but the podcast is almost unlistenable with the sheer level of lies and propaganda that is getting spewed out now. It’s everywhere and progressive coverage offering it up as balance just gives more oxygen to the nonsense.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Wireless cancelled: was the government right to block Kanye West?
Q: Do you buy the apology?
Initial skepticism remains due to a long history of apologies paired with limited observable, sustained actions; genuine change would require clear, lasting demonstrations beyond verbal remorse.
Wireless cancelled: was the government right to block Kanye West?
Q: Was this the right thing to do?
Yes, because inviting Kanye West could pose a direct threat to Jewish communities and other groups, given a documented pattern of anti-Semitic remarks and the risk of amplifying extremist symbols in a large public venue.
‘Even worse than you imagine’ - what Artemis II launch was really about
Q: What does Artemis II tell us about the balance of scientific exploration and strategic military rivalry?
The guests argue that while Artemis II is a scientific and engineering milestone, it sits at the intersection of national prestige, private-sector propulsion, and international governance, signaling a broader competition for influence in space.
Trump Iran Israel: Is this the first AI war?
Q: Is it feasible to strip back AI processes if a strike goes wrong and civilians are harmed?
The discussion recognizes that while there are mechanisms to audit AI inputs and decisions, fully stripping back AI is not feasible in fast-paced warfare; instead, emphasis is on robust data, human-in-the-loop oversight, and accountability structures to manage risk and mitigate harm.
Trump Iran Israel: Is this the first AI war?
Q: Has AI massively accelerated what is possible in targeting and strike operations?
Yes, AI tools have sped up data fusion, analysis, and the targeting cycle, enabling faster identification and evaluation of potential targets, though human oversight remains a core part of the process.
