In light of recent news from the start of 2025,
The United States may be ready to hear a second season of The Last Resort.
A good way of expanding the second season from the first season would be to explore the possibility of other states ceceding,
and to look into how complete decoupling from the flawed health/health insurance system of the US might improve the health system overall in the territories affected.
