Really enjoy all you share. No longer working in the manual therapy world. But I still cannot stop myself from listening to the latest advancements in the healing industry. You two rock. I was wondering how to find a practitioner to help with my threat buckets! Can you assist me with this?

As a seasoned Z-Health practitioner, I absolutely love this podcast! Taylor presents complex neuro-anatomy and neuro-physiology processes in an easy to understand manner. I loved listening to his thought processes while offering possible solutions to everyday problems.

In episode 66, I was right there with him as he discussed right side tension. I would add cerebellum but he is an absolute professional who offers precise, practical solutions through the neuro-lens. Love it.

    Thanks for sharing... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#65 - Q&A - The Neurology of Meditation, Training Strategies for Long-Term Brain Health, Wallet-Sitting and Posture, Dealing with Full-Body Tension on One Side, and More...
Q: What cautions exist with traditional localized therapy for postural issues?
Localized therapies may provide short-term relief but can worsen imbalance long-term if they neglect the brain–body loop; broader strategies that involve bilateral coordination and network-level training are recommended.
#65 - Q&A - The Neurology of Meditation, Training Strategies for Long-Term Brain Health, Wallet-Sitting and Posture, Dealing with Full-Body Tension on One Side, and More...
Q: How can one approach one-sided tension from a PMRF perspective?
Use complex nonlinear movements on the opposite side to activate the contralateral cortex and ipsilateral cerebellum, which can rebalance tone and potentially reduce one-sided tension without over-stressing the involved side.
#65 - Q&A - The Neurology of Meditation, Training Strategies for Long-Term Brain Health, Wallet-Sitting and Posture, Dealing with Full-Body Tension on One Side, and More...
Q: What are the big neural players involved when practicing mindfulness and breathing in meditation?
Breath-focused mindfulness engages the vagus nerve and parasympathetic system, with notable activity in the frontal lobe and insular regions as attention is directed inward and body scanning occurs.
#69 - Aquatic Training for Recovery and Coordination
Q: How would you use aquatic training differently for an athlete versus a rehab patient?
For athletes, aquatic training is typically blended with land work and can be higher in intensity, focusing on endurance, coordination, and speed within a structured weekly quality (e.g., balance week or coordination week). For rehab/ prehab, the emphasis is on moving with controlled ranges, using buoyancy to unlock a fuller range of motion while minimizing pain, and gradually progressing to land as tolerance allows.
#68 - Q&A - Stimulating the Vagus Nerve, Dealing with Migraines and Headaches, Blood Pressure Assessments, Concussions and the Visual System, and More...
Q: Is there anything you have for chronic headaches, and can this help with migraines?
Yes, applied neurology can help with headaches and migraines by targeting regions like the trigeminal nerve and related sensory pathways, using a toolbox of vision, jaw, neck, and autonomic drills tailored to the individual. Testing and adjusting the approach is essential, as responses vary between people.
