  • AJ Dabantsa comp

Hey Kevin, been listening for years and never called your show or left a review but the Dabantsa comp discussion is interesting and I think I have a reasonable suggestion.

Rashard Lewis has identical height and frame (at least on TV anyway) and similar style of play.

Debantsa has better athleticism than Lewis and if AJ even comes close to Lewis’s scoring ability at the NBA level he will be an excellent player.

  • Top 5 basketball players??

Kevin, I am curious. Who are your top five NBA players of all time? Recently an article came out that put Kobe at #11! I couldn’t believe it because I have him in at least my top 3. So what say you?

  • Great show

I have listened to Kevin and Thom for years but could never figure out how to rate them. They have an excellent podcast and are a fixture in my life when I’m driving or walking. I particularly enjoy their conversations having nothing to do with sports.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Diggs Speaks
Q: What have you seen, heard, or observed about David Blau and Durante Jones, and are you confident they'll be ready to go on September 13th?
Barry Svrluga and Kevin discuss the optimism around Blau and Jones, noting Blau's close-to-playing career, Jones's creative approach, and the potential to implement a varied, aggressive scheme while protecting Jayden Daniels.
49ers Talk Aiyuk
Q: What is the biggest pushback you get on any of the top 10s or anything that followed?
The biggest pushback tends to be about snubs and disagreements on rankings, with specific fallout around players like Jordan Love and sometimes aging considerations affecting how players are perceived.
Camp Commences
Q: Adam, what for you, just in a general sense, as you're always looking to improve the team, what role, if any, does kind of a player's social media have in that evaluation process?
We look at everything, including social media, but it isn't usually the primary factor; tape, locker room behavior, and how a player fits into the culture are more decisive, though social media can inform judgments in some cases.
WR Options Dwindling + Logan Paulsen
Q: What parts of the team do you feel most confident about going into Philly on September 13th?
The offensive line and the defensive front, particularly the edge rushers, appear strongest, with smart play and depth shaping the unit's potential strengths.
My Favorite Interview Of '26...So Far
Q: Did you think you were playing to keep your starting job in 2015 after the bye week before the Patriots game?
I didn't dwell on whether it would keep my job in the moment; the team faced external noise and the coach's guidance helped me focus on one week at a time, and my wife sensed the outside pressure, which reflected how public scrutiny can frame a season.
