  • Great pod!

I’ve been been listening for a couple of years now, both on Audacy, and now Apple Podcasts. Al is informative and professional in his discussion of Washington sports teams. I love his “no fluff” approach. No talk about the last thing he ate or drank or his dentist appointment. Just worthwhile content on my beloved Washington sports teams.

  • Thanks for the early morning pods

Hey Al, long time listener since the Thursday Go-Go (it don’t mean a thang )and Friday Foam party days w/ cargo pants.

Really appreciate your early morning program launches as I walk 4 miles most mornings around 3:30 am here in Richmond to get my steps in, and you’re insightful breakdown of all Washington sports really makes my walks a joy to look forward to. Thanks for all you do.

  • Best sports podcast in town

Love Galdis show, always packed with great information and interesting guests

I do wish he would stop talking about the Orioles though

They are a Baltimore team and have their own thing going on

I work in Baltimors and listen to their various sports radio personalties and shows while I work, and they never mention the Nats

It should be the same here, we dont need to or want to hear about them on a daily basis downhere

Thanks for everything you do Al and keep up the good work

  • The Best Coverage of the DC Sports Period!

I grew up a Skins fan in the late 80s and 90s in NC. I moved to Atlanta in the 2000s and was looking for good coverage of the Skins online. I discovered the Team 980 and this guy named Al Galdi. He immediately stood out. One thing I remember about his show was when the Skins went on a winning streak (one of their few under Snyder) and Galdi would have Fred Smoot come in on Mondays and they would play “It Feels Good” by Tony, Tone, Toni! He was and still is entertaining yet knowledgeable and rela... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 1,337: analysis with Ted Nguyen on benefits for Jayden Daniels under David Blough and more
Q: Why is there a push toward under-center snaps for Jayden Daniels in the new Washington offense?
To prolong his career, reduce excessive scrambling, and enable a more explosive play-action base that can exploit lighter boxes and create balanced attacks.
Episode 1,335: Dan Quinn and Jayden Daniels talk new offense as Washington Commanders begin OTAs and more
Q: What are your expectations as Blough installs the offense and starts teaching the team through this process?
The expectation is that there will be incredible offseason teaching and installs, with a focus on collaboration, and refining the concepts to fit the players' strengths as OTAs progress.
Episode 1,332: chat with Scott Turner on Washington Commanders' offseason and on dad Norv Turner and more
Q: Hey Scott, how are you?
Scott Turner responds warmly and discusses his current activities and readiness to analyze Washington's offseason moves, including potential targets like Iuke or Diggs and the importance of the quarterback's health.
Episode 1,331: preview with Nicki Jhabvala on 2026 Washington Commanders OTAs and more
Q: What matters most in OTAs and the mandatory mini camp?
The quality of coaching communication, how players respond to instruction, and whether players appear to be buying in are the key indicators, since non-padded practices limit revelations about scheme and run game.
Episode 1,334: analysis with Ben Standig on if Washington has done enough to support Jayden Daniels and more
Q: So I ask you, what's your answer to the question of whether Washington has done enough to support Jayden Daniels?
The assessment is nuanced: Washington has improved the offensive line and kept talent in the receiving corps, but there are still questions at the true number two receiver and whether the overall supporting cast is at a level that fully unlocks Daniels, especially given turnover in coaching and recent free-agent activity.
