For example, “Bieniemy” or “Eric Bieniemy” is “Commanders assistant head coach slash offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy”. “The draft” is always “The 2026 NFL draf... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 1,314: chat with ESPN's Brian Burke on Washington being tied for No. 1 in value in 2026 NFL Draft and more
Q: What do you think about Washington's approach to drafting for value rather than need?
Burke argues that drafting for value tends to yield long-term benefits, though he acknowledges short-term gaps in fulfillments of immediate needs; the host and Burke discuss how Washington managed draft capital and evaluated players who fell to them, such as Sonny Styles.
Episode 1,314: chat with ESPN's Brian Burke on Washington being tied for No. 1 in value in 2026 NFL Draft and more
Q: But that's my take. What do you think?
Burke agrees that while value-based drafting is generally sound, nuances and exceptions exist; he emphasizes separating evaluation from decision-making, and notes the need to consider teams' different draft capital and positional demands when applying the consensus approach.
Episode 1,315: All-22 analysis with Mark Bullock on Sonny Styles and Joshua Josephs and more
Q: What do you think the new defensive coordinator will do with Styles in the first year?
Bullock suggests Styles could start as the main mike linebacker, with room for creative usage including edge drop or inside linebacker flexibility, depending on how quickly he adapts.
Episode 1,315: All-22 analysis with Mark Bullock on Sonny Styles and Joshua Josephs and more
Q: So in those early morning hours for you, were you as surprised as the rest of us were by Sonny Styles being available at seven?
Yes, it was surprising to see Styles fall to seven; Bullock explains that Washington could be getting a top defensive chess piece who fits multiple roles, with potential to become a mic linebacker and a long-term core defender.
Episode 1,306: conversation with Mike Tanier on Washington at No. 7 and Adam Peters' roster building and more
Q: Where does the draft start for Washington this year in terms of the board and the top players available?
The discussion suggests it starts with identifying the two or three best players on the board regardless of position and then weighing the fit for Washington, especially at seven, while considering trade-down options.
