  • Good insight but

Good insight but John spends half the pod prefacing what he’s saying or tryna beat fans/listeners to the punch by us what he THINKS we think. Can be annoying as hell. Also rambles and repeats at times.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

From 7 to the 7th round: Players who could help the Commanders, with ESPN's Matt Miller
Q: How many players did you give a first-round grade to this year?
Matt Miller says he graded 12 players as first-round prospects, which is lower than his typical range and reflects a tougher, more selective process.
Former Washington OC Scott Turner analyzes a draft debate and weighs in on facing a Brian Flores defense
Q: Okay, cool. So what I wanted to ask you about too, and I want to start with a couple of things on running back versus receiver, especially at seven.
Assess the value by first ranking each position, then weighing the fit, productivity, and the ability of a back to act as a home-run threat versus a receiver who can create separation and stretch the defense; also consider whether a production line can be replicated later with other players.
Does drafting a RB make sense at 7? ... Jay Gruden weighs in on Jeremiyah Love and some draft stories from the past.
Q: What qualities make a center valuable, and how do communications and smarts factor into the evaluation?
A center must be a smart, athletic player who can communicate protections and run blocks effectively; the ability to pull and execute zone schemes well, paired with strong leadership in the middle of the line, often drives why a center is highly valued.
Does drafting a RB make sense at 7? ... Jay Gruden weighs in on Jeremiyah Love and some draft stories from the past.
Q: How do you weigh positional value when deciding between a running back and a high-impact receiver at seven?
The decision hinges on supply and demand, the likelihood a player will contribute as a rookie, and the overall impact on the offense; if a back or receiver can immediate impact scoring, it becomes a serious consideration, especially with the quarterback and offensive line context.
Does drafting a RB make sense at 7? ... Jay Gruden weighs in on Jeremiyah Love and some draft stories from the past.
Q: So speaking of evaluation, with running backs, Jeremiyah Love, what do you think of him as a prospect?
Love is a special, multidimensional back with elite speed and the ability to contribute in the passing game as a receiver and pass protector; his production could justify a high pick if he translates to the NFL, but there are concerns about how teams value a running back at seven and whether the overall upside justifies the investment.
