  • Good insight but

Good insight but John spends half the pod prefacing what he’s saying or tryna beat fans/listeners to the punch by us what he THINKS we think. Can be annoying as hell. Also rambles and repeats at times.

  • Winner level commercials for losing team

Been listening for years. Great guests (minus Bram), especially the opposing teams’ beatwriters, and reporting. Hard to hear some of the locker room interviews esp when in the car, but a must-listen for any Team fan.

Except that the number of commercials has been slowly increasing for years. Used to be a quick natural read for Lone Oak Coffee, but now random commercials can take over a third (!! No kidding!) of an episode. Just barely worth listening. So many of course I’m skipping them all. I ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Analyzing the Commanders' FA class with Nicki Jhabvala
Q: How would you assess the Commanders' moves in the first week of free agency and where they stand heading into the draft?
Nicki notes that while the team has added speed and youth and improved the defense's pass rush options, there remain questions about elite offensive playmakers and how the roster pieces will gel. She emphasizes the importance of not overreacting to one week and highlights the balance between achieving immediate improvements and maintaining long-term flexibility for the draft.
Analyzing the Commanders' FA class with Nicki Jhabvala
Q: All right, Nicki, so first week of free agency is over. First of all, like, how much do you enjoy this period?
Nicki responds that she enjoys the period, finds it liberating and invigorating, though the early days are especially hectic as teams jockey for position and deals begin to materialize. The conversation then shifts to evaluating how the Commanders' early moves set them up for the draft and whether those moves align with a broader strategy.
Chiefs' loss should be Washington's gain. Analyzing Leo Chenal and Charles Omenihu with ESPN's Nate Taylor
Q: Can he be a green dot guy?
It's possible but not guaranteed; Chenal would need to demonstrate the ability to process signals and communicate to the defense, something he did not frequently show in Kansas City, though his overall play and coverage ability have improved.
Insight on new TE Chig Okonkwo -- and will Jeremiyah Love get past 4? With ESPN Titans reporter Turron Davenport
Q: Could Jeremiyah Love realistically go as high as four or fall to seven, and what would that mean for Washington?
Love has three-down potential and athletic receiving ability, which could push him into top-five consideration for teams like Tennessee, but his draft position remains highly contingent on how teams value the running back position and edge needs, which would in turn affect Washington's strategy at seven.
Insight on new TE Chig Okonkwo -- and will Jeremiyah Love get past 4? With ESPN Titans reporter Turron Davenport
Q: What makes Chig Okonkwo a good fit for Washington's offense?
Okonkwo offers matchup versatility, can line up in multiple spots, and provides yak yards and route variety that can stress defenses, while still being usable in the run game as a blocker in certain schemes.
