  • Mock Schedule is Last Straw!!

Mock drafts are dumb enough but mock schedule??? This is the dumbest waste of time I have ever heard of. With his constant slurping of JD5 to this stupidity, he is a hard listen.

  • Did Kev tap Russini too?

Not surprised that Commando Kev is too big of a coward to cover his friend Russini’s cheating scandal. Your silence is everything, Commando Kev. Did she at least let you hit it for some scoops? Is that why you had her on your show so much? You heard she was tapping McVay and thought you could get some of that access as well.

I listen to sports talk to hear about sports. If I want to know the weather forecast I will check out the weather channel. Why does this guy subject his listeners to his fantasy of being weather man everyday?

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

HR3: Ben Standig analyzes the Laremy Tunsil situation & gives a training camp update | Should Stefon Diggs be able to wear #7 this year?
Q: Should Stefon Diggs be allowed to wear Joe Theismann's number seven?
The host and callers generally argue no, citing the number as protected and an important part of franchise history that should not be given away on a whim, with ownership needing to make a clear policy decision.
David Blough on how the addition of Stefon Diggs impacts opportunities on offense
Q: What does Stefon Diggs bring to the playbook now that he's on the team?
Blough explains that Diggs adds experience, savvy, timing, leverage, leadership, and a reliable ability to find space, which should help the offense on third downs and create easier targets for teammates.
Best of Nationals on 106.7 The Fan/The Team 980: Post-Deadline Blues
Q: How do you respond to fans who question spending power compared to bigger market teams?
The focus should be on winning; payroll becomes less relevant when the team is winning and building a sustainable, competitive roster through development and smart acquisitions.
HR2: Will the Commanders offense be that much worse without Tunsil? | David Blough talks Brandon Coleman stepping up & Stefon Diggs
Q: How is the offense being installed in Blough's first year as coordinator?
Blough describes a process of discovering the team's identity, prioritizing fundamentals, and gradually expanding the playbook while adapting to the personnel available, with plans to adjust based on what works.
Best of Nats on 106.7 The Fan/The Team 980: Did they get enough for Luis Garcia Jr.?
Q: Did the Nationals get the most out of trading Luis Garcia Jr. at the peak of his value?
Most participants felt yes, because the return provided immediate bullpen and rotation depth with multiple arms who could contribute this year or next, while Garcia's value would likely decline as he aged and as arbitration nears; the deal was framed as selling high to build for the future.
