I have to say this is my new favorite wind down st night story time. As I listened to the Appalachia trail story from mental health problems to hiking for health, I felt pulled in and in the moments. Thanks for a great story. Lori
I could enjoy the podcast but I rarely listen because each interview is broken up into multiple episodes. It just makes it more difficult. I would prefer just to hit play and listen to it as one episode. It’s also too structured. Just have a conversation.
Always amazed at the determination and endurance the through hikers have. No two stories are the same. Great podcast.
Most content enjoyable, although FKTs, Barkley Marathon, elite performers seem over-represented.
After hearing the podcast, I usually search their social medial sites. I started following a number of hikers and enjoy their hiking experiences.

Across recent episodes, the show centers on long-distance hiking, trail culture, and the mindset needed to tackle ambitious routes. Guests range from record-holding thru-hikers and route designers to authors and family explorers, with conversations mixing practical planning (permits, gear, risk management) and personal transformation (recovery, resilience, homeschooling on trail). Noteworthy trends include the emphasis on epic routes like the Great Colorado Route, deep-dive trail lore, and candid storytelling about mental and physical challenges, making it a strong pick for listeners who want actionable hiking insight paired with human-interest narratives. A standout aspect is the mix of high-stakes adventure with intimate behind-the-scenes... more
