  • Inspired to go hiking

I have been binging Cams pod since his FKT attempt popped up in my insta feed a month or so ago.

I had previously only done one overnight hike a few years ago. At the time we were planning another overnight hike in Barrington Tops so I was loving listening to all the different episodes.

Anyway just loving it the advice the stories the interviews and the reflection. Loving hearing Karis as well.

Highly recommend this pod and life outside .

    Thanks Cam cheers Jo

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#67 - How to Run an Ultramarathon with Andy Glaze
Q: How do you manage motivation and mindset when facing a tough downhill or uphill section?
Never make a decision on an uphill; slow down if feeling strong and eat if feeling weak, and remember to visualize finishing the race; maintain a strong mental routine to stay in control when physical conditions are tough.
#67 - How to Run an Ultramarathon with Andy Glaze
Q: What practical advice do you give for someone training for a 100-mile race?
Focus on mental strategies like taking strategic naps, fueling well at aid stations, and maintaining a positive mindset; separate yourself from perfectionism and run your own race, adjusting pace to feel good and eating when you feel fatigued.
#67 - How to Run an Ultramarathon with Andy Glaze
Q: What was the motivation for bringing out your book and what did you hope to help readers achieve?
Andy describes wanting to help people in low points see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel; he shares how his struggles and recovery from bad decisions can inspire readers to visualize themselves overcoming adversity and to stay consistent and disciplined.
#66 - Embarrassing Poop Stories, Snake Bites, and My Newfound Love of Birding
Q: Brett Hollomius asks, how do you go to church or stay in touch with your faith while through hiking?
Cam describes a faith-centric approach: through-hiking offers spiritual connection, attends local churches when possible, and consumes Christian and diverse theological podcasts to explore faith and other perspectives while on the road.

Q: Nick Diamond asks, How do you balance the need to fly so often with concerns over environmental impact?
He admits he hasn't deeply considered flight-related sustainability, argues his trips are relatively efficient given the long-duration hikes and periods of walking, and invites listeners to challenge his assumptions and share better practices.
