  • Inspired to go hiking

I have been binging Cams pod since his FKT attempt popped up in my insta feed a month or so ago.

I had previously only done one overnight hike a few years ago. At the time we were planning another overnight hike in Barrington Tops so I was loving listening to all the different episodes.

Anyway just loving it the advice the stories the interviews and the reflection. Loving hearing Karis as well.

Highly recommend this pod and life outside .

    Thanks Cam cheers Jo

#62 - How to Actually Fuel Your Long Distance Hike with Kirsty Wirth
Q: What are the core changes you recommend for someone about to undertake a long through hike?
Start by building metabolic flexibility, swap to more nutrient-dense, easily digestible options like coconut milk instead of high-sugar cereals, prioritize fermented foods, and incorporate collagen for joint support, with a plan to keep energy stable and digestion smooth on the trail.
#60 - How To Hike The Pacific Crest Trail - Trail Talk
Q: What would I do differently if I was doing the PCT again?
Honestly, not much. I would probably do more side trips.

Q: What is the biggest rookie mistake on the PCT?
Definitely just starting too fast, just rushing out of the gates.
#60 - How To Hike The Pacific Crest Trail - Trail Talk
Q: Would I do it again?
Yes, in a heartbeat. There's something special about it that I really would love to experience again.
#60 - How To Hike The Pacific Crest Trail - Trail Talk
Q: What was the hardest section?
The hardest technically was the Sierra Nevada for sure, but mentally, Northern California was harder for me because it's just slightly less enjoyable.
