superb intewrview - kept your cool and successfully portrayed some inconstant Metaxas positions
Typically I find Jamie’s interviews rather thought provoking and informative (especially with ardent leftists like Coates) However, he comes across a bit smug (ala the Bulwark crowd) when he questions conservative supporters of Trump (Metaxes and Victor Davis Hanson). His questions regarding the election and Mextaxes’ obvious Twitter snark were ridiculous.
Valiant effort Jamie but talking to a brick wall may be more frustrating for the listener than the interviewer. You can’t argue without using the same set of facts. Jaw dropping hypocrisy and willful ignorance (never heard of Jonathan Swan!) from Eric Metaxas with impunity because his audience will never hear it.
I listened to the interview with Darren Beattie. The entire time Jamie kept cutting off Darren and kept trying to reword his answers because Jamie didn’t want the ideas Darren was speaking of to get spoken. Jamie was desperate to constantly reframe the premise of the conversation. Very dishonest and underhanded.
Always insightful and timely. The questions are thought provoking and not simply perfunctory.
