I really like Dan Foster! So balanced and reasonable. More and more, Noah Rothman just seems angry.
Not Gee or Zee
Most of you say a lot while never making a valid point, and week to week I never know which side you will take on any given issue, it tends to change every episode. Noah should start his own podcast.
Another great episode. After about an hour of thoughtful commentary and policy discussion, it’s always a nice wind-down to have the editors have a few more whimsical Q&As and discussions of weekend exploits. However, I’d be lying if I didn’t say I wasn’t disappointed that — with all of these baseball fans — not one of the editors thought of spending some of their unearned billions on their own “Field of Dreams”-style baseball field. A sharp roundtable of National Review editors and contributors dissects current political events with policy analysis, strategic framing, and brisk banter. Episodes commonly thread together foreign policy tensions (notably Iran and U.S. diplomacy), regulatory and legal developments (courts, redistricting, antitrust themes), and domestic political dynamics, all while blending culture, media commentary, and sponsor reads into the conversation. Notable strengths include candid interchanges among seasoned conservatives, a willingness to challenge conventional narratives, and a mix of hard-edged policy discussion with accessible, personality-driven dialogue that can appeal to listeners seeking thoughtful, opinionated discourse.
