  • Fabulous content

I’m a conservative and this is my daily go to podcast. It hits at around 11 o’clock in the morning and it makes my day. The host and guests are thoughtful and very knowledgeable. There’s also some humor thrown in as well. Keep up the good work and keep the candle burning.

  • It’s OK, but…

I like all the regulars so I recommend the podcast, just be sure to skip the podcast every Thursday because that’s when they have that pretentious windbag Matt Continetti on. The guy doesn’t shut up, hogs all the airtime and pontificates like a smug know-it-all. Skip Thursdays shows!! You’ve been warned!!!

  • Ads, Finally!

Thank you for the chimes announcing the start and finish of the ads. It is very helpful to show that Jpod isn’t crazy when in the middle of a conversation about torture he is suddenly talking about bedding or picture frames.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Wild Kharg
Q: If the U.S. has to leave after aiming to satisfy goals, how feasible is it to sustain a long-term policy without a clear end-state?
Sustaining a long-term policy without a clear end-state risks losing public trust; the panel debates whether ongoing support for covert operations and economic pressure can sustain pressure on the regime without a formal declaration or nation-building efforts.
Wild Kharg
Q: Jonathan, what does phase two look like if a remnant of the regime remains and talks continue?
Phase two seems to hinge on internal Iranian dynamics and a combination of diplomacy and covert pressure, with the risk that external actions may push internal actors toward reform or entrenchment depending on how the regime perceives the outside threats.
Trump's Tariff Tartarus
Q: What do the economic numbers suggest going forward for Trump's policies?
The economic numbers suggest a lack of significant improvement, indicating that Trump's policies may not be effective and could lead to challenges in the upcoming political landscape.
Iran-Amok
Q: Eli, what do you think? What should be the approach of Trump regarding the potential regime change in Iran?
The approach should involve serious planning for a post-regime Iran, but it seems like there's little actual planning being done.
Israel on the Cusp
Q: What will the polity look like when things are pacified?
The long-term goal is creating a Gaza for Gazans, but that relies heavily on security after hostilities cease.
