Your legal analysis is first class and worth hearing. However, your assessments about Iran and sometimes Trump are overly legalistic and miss the bigger points.
Normally this is a four-star, sometimes five-star podcast. I really appreciate Mr. McCarthy's experience and understanding of the rule of law in the realm of domestic crime and foreign conflicts, despite what have become Rich's predictably sophomoric takes on the latest outrage from our president (*giggle* "Just Trump being Trump *giggle*). However, I was disappointed when the two turned to the topic of the Pope's criticism of this administration, effectively saying it's not the Pope's place to ... more
Stick to legal analysis where McCarthy can claim some expertise. There are thousands of shows that can offer wild speculation on foreign policy and even a few that bring in true experts with informed opinions.
Andrew has such brilliant legal analysis of cases and insight into Islam, but he is so clueless when it comes to Trump I am embarrassed for him. Stop treating Trump like he is dumb. Look at what he overcame and what you have said about him that turned out to not be true! C’mon Andrew! You got this!
If it happens on one more episode, I'm deleting this podcast from my line-up: stop musing about random sports for 10 minutes during your podcast. NOBODY is tuning in to hear your sports analysis and you go on at such long lengths about it. Stop it.

The program pairs two veteran legal analysts to dissect current national security, constitutional, and policy questions through a rigorous, law-grounded lens. Episodes frequently explore Iran policy, War Powers considerations, sanctions, and the legality of executive actions, while balancing historical context, jurisprudence, and practical political realities. A notable strength is its willingness to weigh controversial topics against legal standard—often challenging conventional narratives with careful reasoning and occasional sharp back-and-forth. Listeners who enjoy in-depth legal analysis of hot-button issues, grounded in public law and U.S. policy, are likely to find it particularly engaging.
