  • The people who want to block AI centers are often funded by China.

This is a serious competition, if they can push us out of our lead they will gain a strategic advantage that would be at least as impactful as a military victory.

  • Fun

Lots of fun to listen to these men. They are great at seeing what’s happening, but they offer no solutions. Entertaining handwringing.

  • Diminishing Quality

The hosts are selectively focused in a way that avoids confronting their own cognitive dissonance or engaging in meaningful self-reflection. They come across as largely unwilling to critically examine the current administration, despite making that kind of scrutiny a regular focus during the Biden administration.

I’d be genuinely interested in hearing their perspective on issues like the reported $10 billion tied to the TikTok deal, the ‘Board of Peace,’ or Trump’s meme coin debacle. Clear ques... more

  • CAN’T HEAR JAMES

Great podcast—miss Rob Long, but enjoy Charlie’s and Steve’s commentary.

PLEASE HAVE JAMES FIX HIS SOUND. I can barely hear him no matter what media I use and when I forget I turned the volume up to 11 the other hosts and ads blow out my eardrums/car speakers. He also has a habit of whispering the ends of his sentences and we can’t hear him at all.

  • Content is great

But the sound needs help. James voice fades too low and I turned it up then the guest comes on too loud.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Deal or No Deal?
Q: What about Cuba or Venezuela—are there lessons for U.S. strategy in Iran that apply to these other regimes?
The discussion draws parallels about regional influence and external support, emphasizing that successful transitions often require a combination of internal pressures and external leverage, while cautioning against overreliance on any single tactic.
Deal or No Deal?
Q: Could we have done more earlier to support Iranian dissident movements or civilian resistance to accelerate regime change?
The panelist notes that while there was a belief that regime change could be accelerated, the available historical data indicate this is a risky, uncertain strategy and that military options should be weighed against potential humanitarian and regional consequences.
Deal or No Deal?
Q: Charles, what would constitute a successful resolution with Iran given the current fracture of internal power dynamics?
The guests suggest that a successful path would likely combine a credible blockade with targeted concessions on nuclear and missile program limits, while recognizing that the IRGC's dominance complicates negotiations and requires careful diplomacy to avoid another cycle of escalation.
To the Moon and Flipping a Grunt
Q: Do you think the Trump administration's position on the unitary executive will survive in practice?
The hosts expect that while the theory is solid, practical implementations will face pressures from ongoing court rulings and institutional checks, making survival contingent on how future administrations navigate executive power and due process."
Message Discipline
Q: What about the one hundred and fifty billion in tariff revenues Trump has collected?
It raises questions about potential refunds, which were not addressed by the court.
