  • Awesome show with a great format

I really like Matthew's eloquent style, and the central theme that pervades his shows which is taking ownership of your introversion and turning it into an asset rather than a defecit. Inspiring stuff to me, who is a lifelong introvert but also a very ambitious entrepreneur.

Why Traditional Business Advice Doesn't Work for Introverts
Q: What is the one thing you would say, as an introvert, gives you a supreme advantage over everyone else?
The extra preparation and the decision not to rely on winging it because that preparation reduces the likelihood of rejection and helps an introvert actually achieve their goals.
“Everyone Thinks I’m An Extrovert!”
Q: What was your earliest experience with selling or promoting yourself as an introvert?
The guest describes how she initially hated sales, struggled with cold calling, and relied on a mentor who forced her to take action, eventually turning those painful early experiences into a framework that helped her grow.
Leverage Your Introversion, Grow Your Business
Q: How did you start building a business without relying on constant face-to-face interaction?
I started with an email list and weekly newsletters, turning those into digital products and eventually launching multiple e-commerce and media ventures, which proved you could succeed online without always being in front of customers.
Lessons from a Billion-Dollar Brand Founder
Q: What role did authenticity play in your selling strategy, and how did you maintain it under pressure?
Authenticity was the central pillar; I avoided coaching that felt inauthentic and focused on being myself, which required deep knowledge of my material and honest storytelling to sustain credibility with customers and audiences.
Lessons from a Billion-Dollar Brand Founder
Q: How did you choose your initial market niche, and why did you believe it would work for an introvert?
I picked surf shops because the culture was familiar and less confrontational, allowing me to build trust and rapport before selling, which aligned with my introverted strengths and reduced the pressure of mass-market selling.
