  • My new favorite podcast!

Discovering this podcast has been a breath of fresh air for me! As an almost 40 American mom

with a strong desire to move to the UK, I look forward to these weekly installments to scratch that itch. (They make me want to move even more!) I instantly developed friend crushes on these ladies. I love hearing them talk about work and life, motherhood and relationships and each episode feels like quality time with good friends. They are magic!

  • Love it!!

I honestly look so forward to listening to Jojo and Polly each week. They have kept me company as I slowly renovate our house. Funny and refreshing - I enjoy the banter just as much as the advice they share. Even listening from Australia it is still relatable. Love!!

I honestly can’t recommend this podcast more. It’s like listening to myself and my best friend chattering away about life and all that it can throw at us but with great tips for the home and garden thrown in for good measure. I have learnt lots and laughed loads. From planting schemes, panelling and poo in the fridge it has it all! Very genuinely I can’t wait for it to come out each week. Excellent work ladies. X

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Colonics, facials, moving plants and backsplashes
Q: How to choose trees that complement each other in a small garden?
In a small garden, it's rare to choose three different trees; instead, select two of the same type and one different to create a coherent look.
Colonics, facials, moving plants and backsplashes
Q: Does adding ceiling roses in a mid-century semi-detached add character or is it naff?
Not necessarily naff, but ceiling roses work in spaces where architecturally they would have been originally. If it's a mid-century house, they may look out of place, so it depends on the existing features.
An unhinged, not remotely PG catch up & a bumper Q&A
Q: How do I hide a 20-foot long and six-foot wide skate ramp in the garden?
Hedging is your friend for screening large structures like a skate ramp; create a faux wall of greenery around it to disguise the ramp.
An unhinged, not remotely PG catch up & a bumper Q&A
Q: Do you need hob extractor fans? They're ugly.
Yes, extractor fans are necessary to ventilate cooking smells and prevent buildup on ceilings. There are modern alternatives that can be integrated into cookers for a sleeker look.
An unhinged, not remotely PG catch up & a bumper Q&A
Q: Can you trim, prune ornamental grasses or is that a no-no?
You can prune ornamental grasses, but not now. It's better to do it in spring when they're dormant and to leave them during winter for visual interest.
