Matt conducts wonderful
conversations with interesting and creative guests. An excellent podcast.
I’m listening through these and struck by how sensitively you approach your guests, Matt; it almost feels like listening in on a very gentle therapy session. Fascinating and quite surprising conversations that tell us so much more about the guest than you would ever expect to hear on a podcast about home/homes. Really great.
Loved this podcast until it brought in the paywall to hold back from people who don’t have the same level of disposable income as others
What an awesome hour or so spent in the company of Dan Pearson. I was already aware of him as a gardener but not as a whole personality and his charming, candid, amusing and inspiring talk with the host was just lovely. On a stormy dark evening here in South Devon it was like a little glimmer of all the comfort and happiness that engagement with a garden can provide.

Across episodes, conversations explore the calming or transformative power of spaces, the role of design and nature in mental health, and the way personal histories, family, and community infuse rooms with meaning. Guests range from architects, designers, and artists to writers and thinkers who use home as a lens for broader human truths. A notable throughline is a patient, empathetic interviewing style that invites vulnerability, with many episodes emphasizing belonging, ritual, and the healing potential of environments. A standout aspect is frequent emphasis on home as sanctuary, not just décor, often blending psychology, nature, and c... more
