I’ve found my new fav show! Matt is my favourite interviewer and I subscribe to over fifty podcasts. I love the topics he’s interested in and how curious he is, how well he listens and uses follow up questions so naturally. It’s about houses yes, but so much more. It’s very personal and touches on relationships, parenthood, tragedy, habits, creativity, cooking, regrets, colour, safety, country vs city, careers, childhood, stages of life, design, hobbies, comfort, anxiety, fitness, - just loads o... more
One of my faves. Matt has such a special talent. He asks insightful, thoughtful and friendly questions and elicits wonderful, often poignant responses from his guests.
The somewhat stream of consciousness, free-ranging narratives are such a refreshing alternative from podcasts where hosts talk too much and/or don’t really listen to their guests so they miss following up on interesting strands of conversation.
Thank you Matt!
The most relaxing way to learn about other people’s philosophy on home and life in general.
Matt Gibberd offers an insightful view into the homes of many aspirational people. I listen to Homing Podcasts while creating pots in my studio, Matt’s friendly manner and inquisitive mind is the perfect companion whilst working.

A design- and culture-forward show that centers on how homes shape identity, creativity, and well-being. Across episodes, conversations explore the calming or transformative power of spaces, the role of design and nature in mental health, and the way personal histories, family, and community infuse rooms with meaning. Guests range from architects, designers, and artists to writers and thinkers who use home as a lens for broader human truths. A notable throughline is a patient, empathetic interviewing style that invites vulnerability, with many episodes emphasizing belonging, ritual, and the healing potential of environments. A standout aspect is frequent emphasis on home as sanctuary, not just décor, often blending psychology, nature, and c... more
