I learn more from Hugh than any other source. I grew up in the same neighborhood and went to Roosevelt in the same era as Hugh. Not sure he would remember the name Gary Danzl but I have really enjoyed Hugh’s breakdown of Seahawk football over the years. Great work by both of you. #godewey. 😁

  • KJR’s best

Ian is far and away the most thoughtful, insightful sports radio guy in Seattle. Fun, fair and thought-provoking, unlike the noisy clown who follows him in the afternoon. And knows hockey like none other.

  • Horrible!

I used to love the podcast. Don’t need your sanctimonious uneducated medical advice. My good friend just died this week after getting this emergency approved intervention that you push unsolicited. I am done listening after 10 years.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Furness Show 4-3: Rob Rang, Danny O'Neil and Gary Parrish
Q: What makes UConn's path to a possible dynasty unique this year?
Parrish notes the combination of experience, elite margins in late-game situations, and the ability of freshmen to mature into reliable contributors, potentially achieving three titles in four years if the run continues.
Furness Show 4-3: Rob Rang, Danny O'Neil and Gary Parrish
Q: Why is Emmanuel Pregnon a potential number 32 pick for Seattle?
Because of his elite guard frame, power in the run game, versatility at guard positions, and ability to contribute immediately in a high-profile offensive line, despite some concerns about where he was developed.
Furness Show 4-3: Rob Rang, Danny O'Neil and Gary Parrish
Q: What four players do you think would fit the Seahawks at number 32?
Rang outlines four likely targets, emphasizing Zion Young as an edge/versatility fit, with price on other positions; the aim is to maintain a balanced, team-oriented pass rush and run defense.
Furness Show 3-30: Chris Crawford, Nathan Bishop and Nicky Scarlotta
Q: What were the main takeaways from the Mariners' opening weekend against the Guardians, and how does the lineup depth affect the team going forward?
The panel agreed that the weekend showed a more complete lineup capable of producing runs even when the big three weren't hitting, with Donovan, Kanzone, Raleigh, and others contributing; this depth bodes well for sustaining success over 162 games.
Furness Show 4-2: Eno Sarris, Mike Benton and Steve Palozzolo
Q: What jumped out to you about Logan Gilbert and the Mariners' rotation early in the season?
Eno notes that Gilbert's development, plus the rest of the rotation, shows a culture of learning and adaptability, with changes in grips and pitches like the cutter and splitter that could indicate a deeper, evolving skill set rather than a simple early-season trend.
