  • Hard Core Football

I learn more from Hugh than any other source. I grew up in the same neighborhood and went to Roosevelt in the same era as Hugh. Not sure he would remember the name Gary Danzl but I have really enjoyed Hugh’s breakdown of Seahawk football over the years. Great work by both of you. #godewey. 😁

  • KJR’s best

Ian is far and away the most thoughtful, insightful sports radio guy in Seattle. Fun, fair and thought-provoking, unlike the noisy clown who follows him in the afternoon. And knows hockey like none other.

  • Horrible!

I used to love the podcast. Don’t need your sanctimonious uneducated medical advice. My good friend just died this week after getting this emergency approved intervention that you push unsolicited. I am done listening after 10 years.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Furness Show 7-6: USA-Belgium in Seattle, Mollywhop Monday, Danny Jackson
Q: What should fans be watching for tonight that's good or bad for the US?
Danny Jackson answered that the US is likely to play on the front foot to galvanize the Seattle crowd, press the Belgian midfield, and exploit space in behind De Bruyne if Belgium presses high, while balancing the risk of exposing gaps if Belgium shifts to a more aggressive stance.
Furness Show 7-16: Mariners trade ideas, Keith Law
Q: Which draft picks or prospects could help Seattle in 2026, and how does Seattle's draft class look in the broader context?
Law discusses Montes and Arroyo as players with ceiling and potential, notes Montes has high ceiling but may need more development and cautions about projecting top 100 status; Arroyo is closer to ready, with Montes having higher upside.
Furness Show 7-16: Mariners trade ideas, Keith Law
Q: What would you do with the Mariners' rotation and bullpen at the trade deadline?
Law suggests focusing on strengthening the bullpen and adding a quality right-handed bat, while considering the cost and long-term impact, and he cautions against giving up top current or future assets without a clear, sustainable upgrade.
Furness Show 6-29: Mike Benton, Mollywhop Monday with Chris Crawford and Nathan Bishop and Danny Jackson
Q: Is Dan Wilson really to blame, or is he a conduit for higher-level decisions?
The panel suggests he bears partial responsibility, but the front office likely sets broader tactical constraints, making it hard for him to improvise successfully.
Furness Show 6-16: Jason Botterill, Joe Sheehan and John Lund
Q: What does Cal Raleigh's return mean for Seattle's lineup?
Raleigh's return is anticipated to boost defense and pitch handling, with a projected impact on OBP and lineup balance, while also potentially elevating the team's overall performance behind the catcher.
