  • As this podcast is provided by two news organizations, I would have hoped to see more balanced discussions from the hosts and guests. Alas, that is not the case. The terminology used is very biased, calling abortion "reproductive rights" (I'm sure they would object to using the term "pre-born baby killing as biased"), using ultra-conservative (and not the opposite ultra-progressive - which the hosts and guests seem to be) and many other examples of biased terminology. Please provide more balance... more

Why migrants are heading away from the US border
Q: Daniel, how are these deportees being received back in Mexico, or Central, or South America? Are they viewed as traitors in their homelands or welcomed back?
Communities in Mexico are trying to assist returnees with basic needs, but the sentiments towards them vary, as many have been out of the country for decades and acclimating can be challenging.
Why migrants are heading away from the US border
Q: Omar, I want to return to people being sent out of America. Did you have the sense that most of the folks you saw were dangerous criminals or otherwise represent a threat?
Most deported individuals seemed to have no serious criminal records; many were picked up for minor offenses or had lived in the U.S. for decades without issues.
Democrats struggle to register disgruntled voters
Q: How do you reconcile a party with personalities as divergent as Zoran Mamdani and Katie Hobbs?
Maria Cardona emphasizes the need for Democrats to embrace dynamic voices like Mamdani while focusing on core voter issues like affordability, a message that is crucial for electoral success in Arizona.
A conversation with Senator Ruben Gallego
Q: What is the state of meaningful political empowerment in the Latino community?
We're not doing great; the current political environment is harsh on the Latino community and we face ongoing challenges.
A conversation with Senator Ruben Gallego
Q: What gives you confidence that the Lake and Riley Act would be used responsibly?
The tool is for detention, not deportation, and it has not been used in the way many feared it would be.
