  • As this podcast is provided by two news organizations, I would have hoped to see more balanced discussions from the hosts and guests. Alas, that is not the case. The terminology used is very biased, calling abortion "reproductive rights" (I'm sure they would object to using the term "pre-born baby killing as biased"), using ultra-conservative (and not the opposite ultra-progressive - which the hosts and guests seem to be) and many other examples of biased terminology. Please provide more balance... more

  • Essential Guide to Arizona Politics

Ignore the whack jobs with their crazy conspiracy ax grinding (blame it on the Arizona sun—summers here drive everyone a little crazy!) This podcast has done so much to acquaint me with the landscape of the state’s politics and the issues unique to where we live. I feel much better informed since subscribing.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Why the Hobbs-Mayes feud could hurt Democrats in 2026
Q: How do the recent conflicts between Hobbs and Mayes affect their re-election campaigns?
Their public rifts and policy disagreements create a perception of a divided leadership within the same party, potentially energizing Republican challengers while complicating unified messaging for Arizona's Democrats.
Why the Hobbs-Mayes feud could hurt Democrats in 2026
Q: Why would Mayes request this interview now, and what political factors are at play?
The timing appears strategic, aiming to secure a comprehensive, transparent investigation while both sides face scrutiny from opposition; it would also serve to frame the narrative before voters weigh their re-election options.
What Mark Lamb's scandal means for the future of CD5
Q: What happened with the church's involvement?
Church leaders were alerted to the situation, but internal processes and clergy privilege limited public commentary, though the LDS community figures referenced in the piece were implicated in the broader narrative.
What Mark Lamb's scandal means for the future of CD5
Q: Laura, what did your team find in the core allegations around Mark Lamb's conduct as sheriff?
We found a pattern of alleged abuse of power, including threats to suppress investigations and sexual communications with multiple women, which undermines Lamb's public image as a traditional-values conservative.
Outspoken: Why the Declaration contains the 'most important' sentence in history
Q: Did they mean it when they wrote universal equality, and did Jefferson believe in it fully?
The guest argues that Jefferson was conflicted—believing in universal rights in theory while his actions and the Constitutional compromises reflected the era's realities, with later figures like Lincoln articulating a fuller realization of equality.
