  • Wonderful podcast!

I’ve never left a review before but your podcast deserves to be heard by as many people as possible so here I am!

Han is a warm and thoughtful host. Through her own experience and that of her guests, she’s able to present a broad and diverse range of experiences - some I relate to, some I didn’t know much about (for example the discussion of India culture in the Diwali episode) so it’s really great to have the opportunity to learn. Thanks for creating such an engaging, unique, mind-opening and a... more

Are Eating Disorders a Form of Addiction? with Jacqui Russon
Q: What role does anger play in recovery, and how can it be channeled constructively?
Anger can be a healthy, motivating force when directed toward asserting boundaries, expressing needs, and engaging in constructive conversations; it signals areas to address and helps individuals reclaim their voice in recovery.
Are Eating Disorders a Form of Addiction? with Jacqui Russon
Q: How do treatment approaches differ in terms of structure—abstinence models in addiction versus gradual exposure in eating disorders?
Addiction often follows a rigid abstinence-based model, while eating disorders use a more gradual, staged exposure to various foods and situations, incorporating meal planning and real-world practice to build functioning and resilience.
Are Eating Disorders a Form of Addiction? with Jacqui Russon
Q: Could you share from your clinical experience where you see potential overlap or differences between eating disorders and addiction?
There are many similarities in how intrusive thoughts and preoccupations drive daily life for both conditions, plus the need for medical stabilization before moving into recovery. Yet differences include the impossibility of 100% abstinence from food, which shapes how exposure and meal planning are handled in eating disorder treatment.
Understanding the Eating Disorder Voice and Your Values for Recovery with Holly Marsh
Q: How would you describe the eating disorder voice from your perspective?
It's not a separate loud voice for everyone, but for many it's a voice that adopts rules, absolutes, and a future-focused threat; distinguishing it as a separate part of the self can help in recovery.
Could Low-Dose Oral Ketamine Support People with Anorexia and Depression? with Professor Hubertus Himmerich
Q: What will happen during participant visits and how can people get involved?
Participants undergo screening, baseline checks, and random assignment to ketamine or placebo, followed by eight dosing sessions with observation; interested individuals should contact the trial team via the show notes for screening and eligibility information.
