  • How to break free from alcohol?

I found this podcast to be fascinating and interesting and very helpful. However, I found Abel James guest’s running down AA, arrogant and pompous. Some people are not socially, accepted, drinkers, and do wake up in the gutter and need more than just decided not to drink. If someone has been free from alcohol for years because of AA. Then I say whatever works. It really turned me off to the program as I know several people in AA. Besides for that, I thought it was a great show.

  • This Pod is good for your Bod

I just finished listening to two Fat-Burning Man episodes, back-to-back. The Ellen Goldsmith and Chaz Branham episodes were interesting counterpoints to each other with recurring underlying messages: listen to the signals our bodies are giving us. Too often food and exercise become ideas we carry with us about what “should” happen based on common knowledge, advertising, the pressure of our current age and society, or just plain misguided attempts to give ourselves what we need to be healthy an... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Rewire Your Brain using Flow States with Neuroscientist Dr. Lana Morrow
Q: But what about rhythm that entrances people, whether it's a shaker or drumming? Is the downbeat aligned with something sacred while upbeat and syncopation play different roles?
Rhythm engages the listener on a deep physiological level; simple drumming can mimic a heartbeat and entrain the nervous system, while complex rhythms and syncopation can energize or awaken different emotional states. The key is authentic resonance with the listener and the practitioner's ability to guide attention and breath to achieve a flow state.
The Art and Science of Sexual Communication with Dr. Nicole McNichols
Q: How does motivation impact casual sex experiences?
Dr. McNichols notes that when partners have mismatched motivations for a casual encounter, it typically does not lead to a positive experience; clarity and transparency about desires are crucial.
The Art and Science of Sexual Communication with Dr. Nicole McNichols
Q: How can people transcend the box-checking behavior that many fall into when it comes to sex?
Dr. McNichols explains that better, connected sex comes from a place of authenticity rather than media-inspired notions of sex; it's about knowing what you truly want and being able to ask for it openly from your partner.
The Art and Science of Sexual Communication with Dr. Nicole McNichols
Q: What can we do about the shame and guilt related to sex that we often carry?
Dr. McNichols suggests that overcoming these feelings involves understanding sexual pleasure as an essential and normal aspect of life, which is often misrepresented by cultural conditioning.
Why "Unhinged Habits" are the Key to Your Dream Life with Jonathan Goodman
Q: How do we embrace presence and become integrated versions of success?
Goodman emphasizes having one-on-one time with children and being active in relationships to avoid living on autopilot.
