  • Okay

Great content, but unfortunately he tends to talk too much and make the interviews more about himself. The Better Health Guy podcast demonstrates how an interview, for the sake of the listener, should be done. Ask excellent and concise questions, then listen.

Nutrition & Lifestyle vs. Medicine: The Best Approach to Your Health Part 1 with Dr. James Chestnut
Q: What criticism is often leveled at the human health through an ancestral paradigm approach?
It's often said that we live longer now than our ancestors did, suggesting that modern medicine has improved health outcomes, which is misleading as average lifespan increases are often due to reduced infant mortality rather than improvements in chronic disease management.
Nutrition & Lifestyle vs. Medicine: The Best Approach to Your Health Part 1 with Dr. James Chestnut
Q: What are the risks involved with running people down the pharmaceutical route?
Using drugs can override the body's ability to self-regulate; it doesn't address the underlying lifestyle issues that lead to health problems in the first place. People can actually become sicker over time by relying solely on medications.
Nutrition & Lifestyle vs. Medicine: The Best Approach to Your Health Part 1 with Dr. James Chestnut
Q: Why is that whole paradigm screwed up in your view?
It's screwed up because it's biologically inaccurate and doesn't have any successes. It also can be proven to be biologically inaccurate.
Why Keto Works for Weight Loss But Fails for Performance with Dr. Mike T. Nelson
Q: What are the negative effects of being on a very low-carb ketogenic diet?
Negative effects can include hormonal imbalances such as low thyroid function or issues with metabolic flexibility if a person frequently cycles on and off the ketogenic diet.
Why Keto Works for Weight Loss But Fails for Performance with Dr. Mike T. Nelson
Q: What are the practical benefits of being in a state of ketosis?
The key distinction is fat loss; being in ketosis aids in reducing appetite and may provide an efficient energy source for the brain and body, particularly under stressful conditions.
