Sean does a great job with his research and sharing it in a conversational manner. Whether you’re a hardcore movie buff or casual movie-goer, you’ll enjoy this podcast.
Completely unique and important premise: understanding Asian influence and impact on (Western) pop culture. Very solid execution with great preparation, great editing, and an awesome cast of interesting and thoughtful guests.
I want to watch more AAPI films but never really knew where to start. This pod has added soooooo many movies to my list. From only the title, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the podcast. Would it be extremely serious or, what? But the host, sean, and guest matched, resulting in a refreshing ebb and flow of discussion. I could see what they loved about the movie from any fan’s point of view, but also see important aspects from an Asian point of view. With foreign films going mainstream in the U.S. I would think non-Asian film makers could benefit from podcasts such as this one. Great podcast. I highly recommend.
