  • Didn’t see it coming

Didn’t he bring us the longest running local sports radio show in Triad history? Didn’t he graduate from EZU? Didn’t he major in communications? Didn’t he bring us tons of giveaways? Didn’t we all chuckle when he called The Miracle on Ice the silver medal game? Didn’t he ask for this review? Didn’t you enjoy this as much as I did? #2 D’s in didn’t. Well worth the listen.

I still give this show 5 stars, even though the “Armando” drop has been retired. Also, WD needs to watch Uncle Buck

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The George Washington and King George III Podcast! (5-14-26)
Q: What were some of the things you heard Jim Phillips say at Amelia Island that stood out to you?
David Glenn explained that Phillips acknowledged the ACC's financial gap and that the league's television deals don't expire until 2036, which limits immediate improvements, while also noting Duke's Amazon/Dominant non-conference strategy as a potential edge; overall, Glenn framed the ACC as healthier in governance and resilience, but not financially on par with the Big Ten/SEC.
The Pizza Guy (5-12-26)
Q: What do you think has been the biggest reason for the Hurricanes' consistency in the playoffs?
Mike explains that the consistency comes from a learned, strategic approach developed over previous years, a deep roster, disciplined defense, and Freddie Anderson's calm goaltending, plus strong penalty kill and team chemistry that allows them to stay competitive in any situation.
Reading Rainbow (4-10-26)
Q: What stood out to Darren Vaught regarding the baseball season so far?
He highlighted the rise of young talent like Connor Griffin, the Rockies' surprising improvement streak, and ABS challenges as major storylines shaping baseball early in the season.
He Ain't His Daddy (4-2-26)
Q: What needs to happen for the Twin City Thunderbirds to reach the playoffs?
Win out in their remaining four games to control their destiny, close the gap on the PD Ice Cats, and hope for favorable results in the final weekend to secure a playoff berth.
Ice Cream Chicken (3-31-26)
Q: What is the latest on the UNC coaching search and potential candidates?
The discussion centered on Dusty May, Tommy Lloyd, and Dusty May as less likely, with other names like Billy Donovan mentioned; the consensus was that Carolina would wait to secure the right long-term coach.
