    Thanks for the excellent piece Layne - I went through a similar trajectory of belief about sugar, when really, “it’s the calories stupid”. I have to admit, I was about to scream if I heard you say “isocaloric” one more time, as “isocaloric” and “McDonalds” rarely appear together in real life - but you finally got to it at the end, that in a free living environment we eat too much as a population, and so we are obese.
