  • There are doctors out there that truly care!

Best podcast for women that are struggling with weird symptoms that doctors dismiss as anxiety and mom life stress.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Why PMDD Treatment Fails: SSRIs for PMDD, Birth Control, and What Your Doctor May Be Missing
Q: Does birth control help or hurt PMDD, and how do we interpret the data from recent trials?
Birth control may help some women with PMDD but is not universally effective; data from a 2023 Cochrane review show modest improvement in some cases with a new progestin-containing pill, but adverse effects and low-quality evidence mean it isn't reliable for everyone.
PMDD Antihistamines: Why They May Help — and Why Histamine Isn't the Whole Story
Q: What are the risks of using antihistamines and Pepcid long-term for PMDD?
Long-term use can affect digestion and nutrient absorption, such as reduced stomach acid impacting mineral and B12 absorption, so they should not be used as a permanent solution without a clinician's guidance.
PMDD Antihistamines: Why They May Help — and Why Histamine Isn't the Whole Story
Q: Can PMDD be simply explained as a histamine response, and do antihistamines definitely help?
Histamine can play a role, but it's not the whole story; antihistamines may relieve some symptoms for some people, yet they do not address the root causes and long-term safety is uncertain without medical supervision.
High Insulin, Severe PMS, Fibroids & Postpartum Anxiety: Your Hormone AMA
Q: Can you take progesterone with fibroids, and how is that decision made?
It's not automatic to avoid progesterone; the decision depends on fibroid characteristics, concurrent conditions, and careful risk-benefit assessment with monitoring.
High Insulin, Severe PMS, Fibroids & Postpartum Anxiety: Your Hormone AMA
Q: What is the role of antidepressants in luteal-phase PMS/PMDD and how do we decide when they're appropriate?
SSRIs can be helpful for luteal-phase mood symptoms in PMDD, but not all cases; diagnosis matters and response rates vary, so alternatives may be needed if SSRI response is inadequate.
