  • Top Notch

I’ve been an NFCA member for over 5 years now and I can always find value in anything that they put out. Specifically to the 5/7 Podcast and pitching. Overuse is such a problem in our sport. I truly believe that fast pitch will go the way of baseball and we’ll have pitch/inning counts soon enough. I think it should happen as well. I have a 10u developmental team and I just keep trying to maintain the idea that everyone that wants to pitch will get some time in the circle.

This is going to be straight forward and transparent… if you’re a coach, player, parent that is open-minded, looking to grow, become the best version of yourself, this is a great place to be for those things! Love what NFCA has created here.

I was truly honored to be a guest on their podcast as well!

Mental Planning For Your Season | Breanne Smedley | The Elite Competitor
Q: What are the key ways coaches can prepare athletes for the first game of the season?
Coaches should help athletes understand and process feelings of nervousness and excitement, teach them the snapback routine and establish mental skills early in the season.
Marketing Yourself | Katy Young Staudt | Job Search Consultant
Q: What advice would you give to coaches specifically on when possibly can you try to negotiate or when shouldn't you or should you always?
It's nice to have someone doing that on your behalf. I don't think coaches should really have to negotiate their own deals because that's how you start your relationship with your athletic director.
NFCA Team Tips For Convention
Q: How important is the app to helping attendees facilitate every day at convention?
The app is crucial as it provides schedules, maps, and important notifications for attendees.
NFCA Team Tips For Convention
Q: What is the number one tip you would give an attendee who is spending their first convention with us this year?
Go to the mentoring session, and don't be afraid to speak up and ask questions.
Baseball, Softball And The Pros | Ashton Lansdell
Q: What do you think softball could learn from baseball?
I think softball could adopt a mindset from baseball that slows the game down, allowing players to think about their actions and strategies.
