  • Top Notch

I’ve been an NFCA member for over 5 years now and I can always find value in anything that they put out. Specifically to the 5/7 Podcast and pitching. Overuse is such a problem in our sport. I truly believe that fast pitch will go the way of baseball and we’ll have pitch/inning counts soon enough. I think it should happen as well. I have a 10u developmental team and I just keep trying to maintain the idea that everyone that wants to pitch will get some time in the circle.

Q: Is it ever too late to start pitching?
It's absolutely not too late, especially if they haven't spent a lot of time getting misinstruction.
A Profile In Coaching | Nicole Quigley-Borg | College of San Mateo
Q: What advice would you give to coaches as they start to set their tone for their next season?
Every season is a new season, and we have to remind them that they're in a place that expects their best effort and their best attitude, and they're showing up for themselves and for their teammates and their teachers.

Q: How have you evolved as a coach most, do you think, in what areas have you grown the most?
I definitely think that the biggest piece of my evolution as a coach has been really listening more and talking less, so that my athletes truly understand that I'm someone they can lean on and trust.
