  • Podcast for republicans

In a recent episode pastor Matt really just said that because he doesn’t have family members who are undocumented he HAS to see the ICE raids through only a legal lens. Not a compassionate lens, not a loving one, not a biblical one, but a legal one. Sadly comments like this show that he is a republican first and a Christian second. I can no longer support those that try to justify their hate using the word of God.

  • More Consistency Please

Absolutely love this podcast ( when it’s on and has been updated) have been a follower for years and this was part of my weekly routine was to listen to Pastor Matt as I was commuting and it became a conversation piece with my older teenage children. Love the content and the message, Pastor Matt has taught me HOW to be a Christian not just a believer. Only disappointment is that the schedule isn’t consistent.

Thank you so much you guys keep doing a phenomenal job. Got a suggestion. Die har... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

290: Breaking the Cycle of Father Wounds with Dr. Joshua Knabb
Q: How do attachment patterns in relationships relate to one's relationship with God?
Research suggests a positive relationship where secure attachments in human relationships correlate with secure attachments with God; insecure attachments in everyday life can transfer to one's view of God, and small groups can help heal this dynamic.
290: Breaking the Cycle of Father Wounds with Dr. Joshua Knabb
Q: What percentage of US homes have an absent male figure?
About 25% of US homes lack a male figure such as a father or other male presence, which is substantially higher than roughly 7-10% in most other parts of the world.
291: Living on Mission with Erik Salley
Q: What are some ways that Christians can support our missionaries before they go abroad and while they are abroad?
Support includes spiritual prep, prayer, encouragement, financial giving, planning visits, sending teams, and maintaining ongoing communication so missionaries don't feel isolated and overburdened, with a focus on practical, proactive involvement rather than passive concern.
291: Living on Mission with Erik Salley
Q: How can somebody be a part of joining one of your missions teams?
There is a full, active pipeline for short-term trips, including an application, an interview to assess readiness, and a structured discipleship process to prepare people for fieldwork, followed by training, deployment, and a debrief with clear next steps.
287: Did God Already Decide Your Fate?
Q: How should we understand Romans 9 and the issue of predestination vs. free will?
Salvation is offered to all who repent and believe in Jesus; God is sovereign in choosing and electing, but humans retain responsibility and the ability to respond. The speaker identifies as provisionist, arguing that the gospel must be preached to all rather than limited to the predestined, and acknowledges the ongoing historical debate among theologians.
