  • Podcast for republicans

In a recent episode pastor Matt really just said that because he doesn’t have family members who are undocumented he HAS to see the ICE raids through only a legal lens. Not a compassionate lens, not a loving one, not a biblical one, but a legal one. Sadly comments like this show that he is a republican first and a Christian second. I can no longer support those that try to justify their hate using the word of God.

  • More Consistency Please

Absolutely love this podcast ( when it’s on and has been updated) have been a follower for years and this was part of my weekly routine was to listen to Pastor Matt as I was commuting and it became a conversation piece with my older teenage children. Love the content and the message, Pastor Matt has taught me HOW to be a Christian not just a believer. Only disappointment is that the schedule isn’t consistent.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

281 | Understanding Ourselves and the World Beyond
Q: What happens to intersex people in heaven and how does gender carry over beyond bodily life?
The discussion affirms that God will restore or clarify gendered aspects in the resurrected body, acknowledging the complexity of intersex experiences while maintaining that in heaven there will be a restored order—though the exact details are tied to resurrection theology and the belief that earthly gender expressions reflect God's image; the speaker emphasizes God's care and the importance of understanding the resurrection as central to ultimate identity.
281 | Understanding Ourselves and the World Beyond
Q: How should a believer approach Transcendental Meditation or similar mindful practices that involve a mantra or guided breathing?
The speakers recommend caution and discernment, noting that TM can involve unfocusing rather than focusing, and cautioning about the source of the practice, the secrecy of the mantra, and potential alignment with beliefs outside Christian faith; they advocate for prayerful engagement with God, scripture, and Christ-centered grounding, and suggest considering physical and mental health benefits while avoiding non-Christian spiritual influences.
281 | Understanding Ourselves and the World Beyond
Q: What are your thoughts on the possibility of alien life; is there any biblical backing for this?
The host suggests that it's possible there could be alien life and argues against a strict divide between spiritual beings and physical bodies; while there isn't a definitive biblical answer, the discussion leans into the idea that spiritual beings could have physical aspects and that the biblical witness to unseen powers implies a broader reality beyond our immediate observation.
E282 | What We Want vs What God Wants
Q: Phil in Brawley asks about whether a gay person who is saved can go to heaven and how sexuality relates to faith.
The discussion affirms salvation while stressing that sexual behavior should align with biblical teaching; the speaker distinguishes attraction from action, endorses monogamous heterosexual norms within biblical framework, and calls for submission of sexuality to spiritual lordship while extending church welcome and grace.
E282 | What We Want vs What God Wants
Q: Roy from Riverside asks if a young man can be sexually pure before dating and how long to wait before pursuing a relationship.
The hosts separate the act from desire, emphasize porn is addictive, advocate for a period of abstinence and mentorship, and recommend rebuilding self-control and community support before pursuing a relationship.
