I am a plant-based nutritionist and I was rolling around in my chair listening to her talk about muscle mass on a plant-based diet. This is unfortunate information getting out there and I’m glad you said that likely the healthy plant based folks are not the ones in her office. It is so important to dispel this plant based protein myth. I live in Mexico ... more

  • Dr Daniel Amen interview

I just finished listening to the interview you had with Dr. Daniel Amen. His mission of improving brain health is commendable. However, when was discussing your SPECT scan and all the information he could glean from it I was flabbergasted.

As a neuroradiologist the idea of seeing all the abnormalities using nothing but a SPECT scans everyday sounds ludicrous. He must be using some “new” or special technology I’ve never heard of. In daily practice SPECT scans predominantly evaluate for Parkinso... more

The Dark Side of Self-Care: Why Hyper-Focus Is Making You Miserable

That happiness comes from within and that you must work on yourself in isolation; in reality, happiness heavily depends on the quality of relationships and meaningful connections.
The Radical Power of Extreme Discipline for Longevity with Ken Rideout
Q: What advice would you give someone on the precipice of change?
Start with small, consistent actions and borrow motivation from commitment rather than waiting for inspiration; the journey begins with showing up and doing one thing today.
The Radical Power of Extreme Discipline for Longevity with Ken Rideout
Q: What role did trauma and adversity play in shaping your path to longevity and success?
Trauma was the catalyst for deep work and transformation; recognizing the impact of the past allowed me to reframe my life, embrace therapy, and commit to a lifestyle of endurance.
The Radical Power of Extreme Discipline for Longevity with Ken Rideout
Q: How do you find the mental toughness to do it when you don't feel like it?
Discipline and a clear identity as someone who outworks others; you choose to be the person you want to be and show up every day, regardless of how you feel.
The Trillion-Dollar Trap with Marion Nestle
Q: If you were put in charge of the food system, what regulations would make the biggest difference in America to help us eat healthier?
She argues for removing money from politics to enable public health priorities, reworking subsidies to support specialty crops and healthier food production, improving school meals and cooking education, and building infrastructure to get healthy foods to market. It's about systemic changes, not just individual choices.
