Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Building an Earthquake‑Proof Career: Chris Tran on Story, Change, and Creative Resilience
Q: What would you say is the biggest misconception that they have in their heads?
The more people you know, the more opportunities you have.
Fragmented Realms: Worldbuilding Across Games, Comics, and Transmedia with Joshua Rubin
Q: How does that relate to time travel stories and fractured narratives?
I think time travelers bump into stories that are told out of order, which adds complexity. In a comic, you have to remember pieces over time, making reading a unique experience.
Fragmented Realms: Worldbuilding Across Games, Comics, and Transmedia with Joshua Rubin
Q: Tell me about this new endeavor.
I've written a comic book, and it is a really cool time travel comic book that has launched on Kickstarter, and it has been going gangbusters.
Game Storytelling & Sound: How Music Shapes Player Experience with Nikita Malko
Q: What advice would you give to game writers regarding the soundtrack?
Nikita emphasizes the importance of detailed storytelling and character motivations to help composers create music that aligns with the game's identity.
Game Storytelling & Sound: How Music Shapes Player Experience with Nikita Malko
Q: How did you get into audio and music and sound?
Nikita shares about his journey beginning with a love for gaming and then transitioning into music, initially through playing guitar and later experimenting with different genres.
