  • Definitely Worth Listening To

I really do enjoy listening to Corie. He highlights issues that needs to be spoken about that will definitely have you agreeing most of the time.

I love that when he’s straight forward and hits the nail. From getting Covid, to highlighting his own experience, he is really funny and his inclusion of underground soca is always a vibe.

    Keep it up Corie.

  • Amazing - keep them coming

Truly an experience. Corie is not just intelligent but the laughter this podcast provides is certainly one to look forward to weekly. Being outside of Trinidad, I never miss a beat of the current affairs as well as the commentary for the “jokey” moments you wouldn’t get unless you are in Trinidad daily. This is a much needed breath of fresh air!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

I Knew It Was Time for a Change | Blaze | The Corie Sheppard Podcast
Q: Can you reflect on the balance between drama and substance in your on-air persona?
The balance came from understanding that drama drew listeners but substance kept them loyal; over time, we learned to channel energy into entertaining yet informative dialogue, which allowed the audience to see both sides of the hosts.
I Knew It Was Time for a Change | Blaze | The Corie Sheppard Podcast
Q: What role did collaboration and partnerships play in your growth, especially when you split from self-construction?
Collaboration remained essential; the shift to a new team, reallocation of roles (Miles stepping up, Blaze focusing on persona and content), and strategic decisions to protect brand while exploring new opportunities kept the show viable and growing.
I Knew It Was Time for a Change | Blaze | The Corie Sheppard Podcast
Q: How did you navigate the transition from night to morning radio and maintain consistency for listeners?
It was a massive adjustment that required stricter schedules and a blended approach with existing bandmates; over time, the team developed formats and post-show reviews that kept the audience informed and engaged, while still preserving the show's core energy and camaraderie.
He Walked Away From His Job When They Fired His Team | DJ Elon (Papi)
Q: What inspired you to leave your job when you did, and how did loyalty to your team shape that decision?
I felt the move was necessary because I couldn't in good conscience stay when the core team, the people who built the momentum, were being treated in a way that didn't align with my values. I chose to walk away with them, believing opportunity would come again and that staying would mean compromising on the team's future. That decision ultimately sparked the pivot to new roles, even if it meant initial uncertainty.
Wendy Fitzwilliam on Fame, Miss Universe, Motherhood & Why Trini's “Mash Up” Our Own
Q: What was it like to go from Miss Universe Tobago to Miss Universe in Hawaii and live your year in real time?
She describes the intense, global scrutiny, the way sponsors and media paid close attention, and how being the first title holder to experience that year in real time created a unique sense of visibility and pressure, along with opportunities to leverage that visibility for future work.
