  • My favorite writing podcast

This podcast feels like having a chat in the tent at Harrogate. As an author, I stopped enjoying listening to many writing podcasts because I wanted to have a break from thinking about it all the time- BUT the conversation is an exception. Always a delight to listen to, and manages to leave me feeling hopeful and happy. Love the mic of genres and the tangents they go on.

P.J. Vernon: Sobriety, Rejection & the Power of Honest Writing
Q: When did you know you were a storyteller, not just a writer?
I realized I was a storyteller when I started lying as a kid in a way that felt almost performative, but then understood storytelling is a natural impulse, a way to process experiences and connect with others, which later evolved into writing books with true emotional stakes.
Mario Ambrosi:Unraveling Stories of Care, Compassion, and Quirky Characters.
Q: When did you know you were a storyteller?
Ambrosi recalls storytelling began in childhood, creating imaginative tales for family and using storytelling as a way to explore and entertain, which evolved into a professional pursuit.
Lulu Taylor: The Write Life, Voice, Secrets & Second Chances
Q: My first question for you, Lulu, was, and I always feel bad saying it, like going through your history, do my Google search while you're looking at your book.
Lulu explains how she started in publishing, the allure of commercial fiction, and how she discovered her own voice later by writing under a pseudonym to escape past pressures and expectations.
