Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

21. Waste Less, Lead More: The Business Case for Sustainable Salons
Q: Talk through what you ask a salon to do, kind of what they're committing to with Green Circle.
Salons are asked to sort waste, use labeled bins for hair foils and color waste, and integrate easy waste-management steps into their existing workflows. A dedicated educator guides them through the program, and a simple portal handles UPS pickups on a next-day cadence, with a transparent impact dashboard and annual waste-diversion certificate to show progress.
22. Alain Audet on The Kim Report, the Power of Salon Data & the KPIs Driving Profitability
Q: What exactly is The Kim Report and why does it matter?
The Kim Report tracks salon transactional data across multiple platforms to give a broad, anonymized view of the independent salon market, revealing trends in pricing, services, and utilization that help salons benchmark performance and plan strategically.
19. Building a Stronger Salon with Wafaya Abdallah
Q: So before we even get started, why Intercoiffure for you?
I was drawn by the mission and the community; I wanted exposure to leaders and peers who push for positive change in the industry, and Intercoiffure offered that network and focus on growth.
15. Ameet Kallarackal: Leadership, AI and the Future of Salon Discovery
Q: How do you view leadership and humility in a fast-growing, tech-driven industry?
Leadership is about teaching and injecting heat to push for growth while coaching and supporting the team. Humility matters to avoid ego-driven decisions; learning from failures and seeking feedback are essential for continuous improvement and building a durable organization.
15. Ameet Kallarackal: Leadership, AI and the Future of Salon Discovery
Q: What were the biggest obstacles when pivoting into the beauty space, and how did you plan to navigate them?
The two main obstacles were building an efficient go-to-market strategy that fits with small independent salons' budgets and proving clear, measurable value to justify recurring costs. Early beta programs with a handful of salons helped validate that the product moved the needle, which justified more aggressive market expansion and partnerships with distributors and coaches.
