Reviews
The only comics podcast I follow and a shining example of why podcasts are awesome. I love comics but I find that superheroes just dont do it for me like they used to. This show has clued me in on some amazing comics outside the realm of supers that I might not have stumbled on by myself.

I am glad to hear information and analysis of comics that aren't superheroes. I agree with the 2Guys + others assessment that the alternative comics get less attention than their superhero counterparts. I love that the Comics Alternative fills that niche. I always try to keep up with all of the wonderful content they provide. You can choose to only listen to the regular episodes, the special interest episodes, or do what I do and listen to everything! This is great example of a Comics podcast series, where the subject matter is respectfully dissected and analysed by the two hosts, Andy Kunka & Derek Royal, to great detail. They also host some outstanding interviews with creators, editors, and other professionals in the Comics industry, in both Alternative and Indie Comics. Wonderful work, gents.

The podcast occupies a special and necessary niche by not dealing with mainstream superhero comics, but instead focusing on independent comic creators and books. This is a great podcast for the deep and thoughtful commentary on the comics reviewed and it's not pretentious or too high-brow to enjoy. There's a good rapport between the co-hosts. They're smart and knowledgeable but very down-to-earth. The interview with Hickman is a definite highpoint and I still have two more eps to listen to. If capes and cowls bore you, then this is your relief.
