  • Complete comic book coverage

This podcast can be a bit overwhelming at first. Jace and team put out so much amazing content, and I sometimes wonder how they have the time to generate so much quality and quantity. (He is like the Jeff Lemire of podcasts.) There is a love and passion for all things comic book. Btw, there is not thorough discussion of TV, movies, or video games; this is all about comic books.

My favorite is “New Comics Wednesday”, and I would recommend starting there each week. I find the reviews to be very h... more

Creating VeeFriends Topps Chrome with Artist Gyula Németh
Q: What speaks to the collectability and community around VeeFriends?
Collecting is inherently democratic and family-friendly, with people of all ages able to engage. Some cards become highly valuable, yet the joy comes from the moment of discovery when you open a pack and connect with a character you love, a dynamic similar to other beloved collectible ecosystems.
Creating VeeFriends Topps Chrome with Artist Gyula Németh
Q: How do you approach designing a VeeFriends card versus a Kaboom card?
With Kaboom, you're translating a real athlete's likeness; with VeeFriends, you have more freedom to push expressions while respecting the core character traits Gary created. The challenge is balancing creative liberty with recognizable personality, and, for some characters like the gorilla, iterating through multiple versions until the right mood is achieved.
Creating VeeFriends Topps Chrome with Artist Gyula Németh
Q: What is VeeFriends to you, and how does it relate to Kaboom and your work with Panini?
VeeFriends feels like a whimsical spin-off from Kaboom, built on Gary Vaynerchuk's sketches and refined by different artists who interpret those characters while staying true to the original likeness and personality. My role is to translate that base into card-ready poses and expressions, sometimes keeping a few references but mainly delivering a fresh interpretation that still respects the source designs.
From Disney Layoff to Kickstarter Success – Marcus Walker: Kingslayer Protocol
Q: What makes Simone Ragazzoni the right artist for this project, and how did the collaboration develop?
I searched for an artist who could fuse kinetic action with emotional storytelling; Simone brings a dynamic line and a willingness to explore quieter moments, and the collaboration grew from mutual respect and a shared love for the medium, including bringing in a mentor-figure like Sean Murphy as a cover influence.
From Disney Layoff to Kickstarter Success – Marcus Walker: Kingslayer Protocol
Q: Give us the elevator pitch and why now is the right time to bring Marcus Walker into the market.
Marcus Walker Kingslayer Protocol follows two brothers in a city under constant attack by monsters, focusing on their emotional bond and grief rather than just spectacle, with a Kickstarter-funding plan that guarantees production finishes by release and offers a curated set of variant covers and creator-driven tiers.
