  • A fun and informative listen

Brings me back to when I was 10-12 years old. Great fun hanging out with Rick and Bob and rapping Cap. An oasis in the podcast world from the politics and the stress.

  • These guys know Cap like no one else

I became a fan of Cap back in 2011 when the first MCU Cap movie came out. I started reading Captain America comics back in July, starting with the original Tales of Suspense stories and found you guys when I was looking around for YouTube videos talking about those issues.

Needless to say, I absolutely loved listening to you guys break down the issues as I read through them and subscribed to your channel immediately! I listen to it as a podcast when commuting to and from work. You guys truly g... more

  • Cap Would Be Proud

I came for the J. Michael Straczynski interview. As a comic book creator myself, I am intensely interested in getting inside the head of other creators. But I stayed for the love of Captain America and the love for the medium in general. These gentlemen understand Cap in ways a lot of people miss. I’ll definitely keep coming back.

  • For every Cap fan!

If you like any incarnation of Captain America, this podcast is for you! Each episode dives into the origins of the characters; good guys, bad guys, villains (listen to the Top 10 list to understand the difference). This has quickly become my favorite podcast.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#252: Interview with Bart Sears, Legendary Artist!
Q: What inspired your look for Steve Rogers in the Captain America and the Falcon run?
Sears says he viewed Captain America as a super-soldier created in a tank with a serum, so the look needed to convey extraordinary physicality—amps up the neck, cheekbones, and overall musculature to reflect the character's non-human, heroic nature.
#247: Interview with Chip Zdarsky, New Captain America Writer!
Q: How much liberty do you take when adding to Cap's lore, especially with a flagship character?
There are editorial discussions and approvals, but I aim to tell a bold, fresh story that still respects the character's core. It's about asking what-if questions and weaving new elements into the existing continuum.
#247: Interview with Chip Zdarsky, New Captain America Writer!
Q: When coming onto a title of a long established character like Captain America, how much do you read of previous runs?
I reread major runs from years before to stay in step with what happened, then cherry-pick key stories to inform my approach while keeping space to pivot if something isn't working.
#259: Creator Chris Giarrusso Joins the Show!
Q: What elements make a piece enjoyable for both kids and adults, and how do you bridge that gap with Mini Marvels?
The goal is to create humor that's not offensive and avoids naughty material; by focusing on light, non-explicit humor, the work remains safe and enjoyable for all ages, echoing how classic comics were perceived by both kids and adults.
#259: Creator Chris Giarrusso Joins the Show!
Q: Back in 1997, what sparked your Marvel debut with What If 100, and why did you choose Wolverine and Sabretooth for that piece?
I was interning for Kelly Corvace editing What If; when things weren't busy, I pitched ridiculous ideas, which led to three panels that could fit in the letters page, including Wolverine and Sabretooth.
